Hey guys, I know I promised a VCopter thread so here it is! So let me first say, I am a relative noob when it comes to quads, setups, and tuning. This would prove to be the perfect testbed for me as I would experience a lot of what new people would as well.

Equipment:

I fell in love with ehe Neato frames Dallas 220 BUT they didn't have any of those in stock so I got a Neato180 and found the equipment for it. This is what I chose:

(1) Neato Frames 180
(4) Voodoo quads MR 2204-2650KV motors
(4) Little Bees Pro 20 amp ESCs
(1) Pyrodrone run cam
(1) Lumineer 600 mw Video transmitter (found out this was overkill and a 200mw would be just as good)
(1) Maytek power distribution board
(1) VBAR NEO with Copter and rescue (not in 3D mode yet)
(4) Gemfan Bull Nose 4045BN props
(1) Fat shark antenna
(1) Extension

Goggles:
(1) Fat shark HD 2 goggles
(1) UBAD LaForge Video rx with diversity antenna
(1) Immersion RC Diveristy antenna
(1) Mad Mushroom antenna

Build:

Building a quad is a tight event. I was able to get all the ESCs inside the frames as well as the PDB and the VTX and camera. The build went well, the only hiccup was programming the ESCs. I got some help from Brian Phillips (this guy KNOW how stuff!), I got the ESCs programmed and then it was off to set the NEO.
Surprisingly it took no time to get the NEO setup! Once you plug the ESCs into the correct ports according to vstabi.info, then it is just setup of the gains and such.
I chose to go with the default gains and use the transmitter to adjust in the air. The stock gains were way too high, I had to lower them about 20 points but now it is solid. Climbs are hard and fast and decelerations are quick and precise.
The Video is one of the coolest things going, I can see how they are addictive and with the diversity setup, I can fly virtually anywhere without a loss of signal.
Here are some pics and I will add some later:

Thanks for the post Ron. I've been wanting to give this a try as well, but wasn't sure where to start.

Did you source most of your parts from a single dealer? If so, which one (or two) ? What was your approximate cost for the complete setup? I've been trying to decide whether to built one up and use a spare NEO, or just go with a working package like a Vortex250.

The "diversity setup" you mention below..... flickering/loss of video feed was one of my concerns. I've seen a few fpv quads in person and pretty much all of them had the video flickering or breaking up at some point during the flight. If this diversity setup eliminates that, I guess it's time for me to try an FPV quad

Thanks for the info!

The one disadvantage of the quad market is that nob is really a "one stop shop" if you want certain brands. SO I got a lot of stuff from pirofliprc, getFPV, UBAD, and Voodoo quads.
The diversity setup is a really nice option and works well. There is a learning curve for me but I seem to be picking it up
