Just got back into gassers. Picked up a beautiful trex 700 with a gasser conversion. Need to know what everyone is using to fill their machines.

I used dubro before but it always leaked gas all over me. I want to setup a two gallon plastic can only for the gasser.

Thanks in advance

Jeffrey:) (Love and Peace to all)

Cans

You know I've been using the Dubro gas cans with hand squeeze pumps since 1997, they are perfect, don't leak, but they are also discontinued now. I like mine because the can is airtight, it inflates into a ballon with heat and collapses on itself when cold. Tells me its 100% air tight.

Anyways, most people now are using the Jersey modeler gas can. They work and are quicker to get the fuel in and out with the hand crank unit, but they are not airtight for sure, they will let some fumes out, you never see them inflate or collapse.

My Jersey Modeler gas can is air tight. It puckers up real good when it cools down. I have the 1.25 gallon size.

I do this : Figure I got less than $10.00 in it - thats a volley ball air pump laying on top - It's air tight.

If you forget the little air pump - I use the gravity method.

Jug has a clunk in it too. < Last drop >

Jersey modeler gas can is air tight. If it is leaking you have to change the oring on the top. They can develop a leak from time to time I had mine for 2 years and just had to change out the oring.

yeah

Larry has a couple of those Jersey ones and his never inflate or deflate, they leak from the filler and/or the yellow cap under the filler. I guess some are better than others or he has not serviced it in any way.

Regardless, those are the "norm" and easy ones to get through they are not cheap per say, about $70.

http://www.slimlineproducts.com/rc-...pumps-s/108.htm

I've used the same Slimline fuel rig for 20 years. I use it not just for my models but for my yard tools as well. The amount of fuel it has pumped for my models is insignificant compared to the amount it has pumped for my leaf blower, edger, string-line trimmer etc. 100s of gallons...

The crank hand pump looks like the same little gear pump Hanger 9 sells. They seem to malfunction very quickly when used with glow fuel but when used with gas, they last decades.

I just bought another because I can't live without one of these and like I said, mine is 20 plus years old.

For a less expensive route, throw a $7 Hobby King pump or a hand pump on a Coleman can or plastic gas jug.

I used this setup for years before buying a jersey modeler pump and making a setup similar to theirs, only reason was to fill up faster (20 seconds for 14 oz).

They are expensive but you will be well served by the Jersey. I am still using the one that I bought almost 10 years ago.

It is a little leaky and I did need to change out the tygon a couple times but its still on the original hand pump and filters.

FY, my old one looks like this, the new design they sell is more air tight I believe...

Picture/video of air tight gas cans

The one on the left has been outside in the shade in 95 degree weather, the one on the right I put in the house a couple of hours ago in 75 degree AC weather. You can see one is inflated and the other is collapsed. If your gas can does not inflate or collapse with temperature changes then its not air tight.

Here is a video to make it easier to see what I mean:
