I have been flying this for about 6 months and am starting to get Dangerous. My only problem is that when flying it fly's like it is on a bumpy road. I have explored the full range of PID settings the results each time are consistent. (NAZ32 Acro) and the machine fly's great except for the bumpy road affect (seen on the FPV camera) (yes all is tight). I am running Gemfam props which are a bit flimsy could that cause this issue?

Here is some video from a run cam (which soothes it a bit).

Doug, very hard to tell without seeing your raw fpv camera footage. However, I would expect that what you are seeing is a typical vib-related effect and that you are using a CMOS fpv camera.

I never have very good luck with most CMOS fpv cameras, even with everything well balanced, (esp Fatshark ones) on my quads and I usually only use them on fpv foamies.

I think if you switch to a good quality CCD fpv camera like the ~$35 surveilzone hs1177 you will have a lot better result.

Cheers,
TomC

Here is some video from the Sony 600 line FPV camera. I see no jello in the Runcam 2 video and you can see the bumpy road affect much better in this one.

Doug, I think you are too picky, lol!

Only things that I can think of that may help a tiny bit are;
- try stiffer props. The bullnose versions are generally a bit stiffer.
- check that your CG is close to centre as possible.
- try diff fpv camera mounts. Sometimes firmer mounting works better.

Cheers,

Have you balanced your motors? There is a video out there somewhere that shows how to do it. Basically balance them with electric tape and then use an IPhone or Android phone with a seismometer app to check for vibrations. I did it a long time ago on a quad and it made quite a difference. I suppose you could go whole hog and do it with props on as well if you were a safety rebel. :-)

The motors run smooth with no props and I balance the props. I'll choose "props"
