I saw a 3 shoe clutch I believe was developed by a runryder member named RM3 and I was wondering if the clutches are being sold to the public.

they were...

but considering what it costs me to make a single clutch based on time, effort and testing to ensure quality...99% of those that have asked for one back out when they are told its costs $175.

why the cost?
1. Hand machined to very tight tolerances
2. quality alloy steel
3. Had fitted parts
4. each shoe assembly balanced to within 0.1 grains...(yes grains not grams)
5. tested in a heli to ensure proper operation

I dedicate an entire weekend to a single clutch...If I went through the trouble of programming a CNC to do the machine work, it still means I have to hand inspect each part and test the clutch.

showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...

like I said no one wants to pay for good custom work...

but most have no problem paying $150 for a single servo that will likey be damaged in a crash, $150 for a set of blades that will be destroyed in a crash or $200 for a 6S lipo that will likey also be damaged in a crash...or even a $75 canopy...

but buy a clutch for $175 that will not be damaged in a crash and outlast the models lifespan or most peoples interest in helis...nah too much money...

I just dont get it
