Jehovah, he that causes to become.
Jehovah, a man made name to describe a mythical concept, previous men made fictionally because of their severe ignorance, that many people today still believe embarrassing humanity by placing myth before reality.

Oh Grey when will you ever learn?

The world changes and moves forward but you don't like it.

Maybe you want the "good old days" but those days are gone - forever. You either accept this or you don't, nobody can do it for you and we won't even try.

Having said that all this talk about ego, profit and bragging rights are totally unfounded. We advance ourselves by understanding the fundamentals of nature, since that book is still unwritten there is more to learn, and - you know - new exciting things round the corner that might make it into reality.

Most very old men are stuck in a time loop, unwilling to change no matter how many facts are produced.

They hold the same fanaticism as dirty muzzies, and whine like children when no one else believes in their fictional beliefs.

and what are you going to do, eh? Are you going to ban all research and halt everything? If you try that then there will be plenty of amateurs who will do it in secret to "have a go", because the frontiers of science is, to be honest, the most exciting place to be.

you can't halt this striving progress even if you tried - not going to happen unless the whole of humanity is wiped off the face of the earth.

the silly examples you give are frivolous at best. So what if people do those things. Scientific discoveries can be used for whatever purpose anyone sees fit - there is no regulation in place unless we ourselves put them in. But the truth of the discoveries remain unchanged and undiminished regardless of what anyone says about them or tries to impose their censor . . .

no, actually Grey is rather harmless. He won't demand death for those that insult or mock his beliefs. He doesn't demand that the whole world submit to his or his book's own image. Big difference.

The part I like is they believe in a big bang like everything just popped into existence some 14 billion years ago. so what was there before. Is space infinite ? yes it is. they so stupid they make no sense. a lot of wasted money and time.

When people are not dumb as dirt, they understand nothing just popped into existence. This is ignorance of the actual science involved.

A singularity expanded. Black holes are singularities. The universe is full of singularities.

Singularities at this time are not definable in full.

But what do you think, some primitive damned goat herder mythology created fictionally that states a grey bearded man in the clouds snapped his fingers and life appeared willy nilly. That is not what is retarded. Its that this mythology believed by so many that closes peoples minds to accept knowledge, and that dude is what is retarded.

Your rambling incoherent paragraph just shows severe ignorance.

Do you base this on anything except stupidity?

Our space and time was created over 13B years ago. Not up for debate.

What is beyond our universe is unknown. Making your statement a pile of BS

This is an ignorant statement as well. Intelligent people undertand that we don't know everything and they are humble to that fact. They never make absolutes like you do. They always make statements like, "based on our current understanding."

They don't make statements like yours and if they do, they are just as close minded as the theists you argue against.

The fact that you can seem so intelligent and then make idiotic absolutes dulles the impact of the facts you use to backup your statements. You come off as a cranky know it all that can't have a civilized conversation.

I didn't need Kathryn Scholz to make me wonder if I might be wrong sometimes. I also didn't need her to then suggest that if I am wrong (sometimes), I probably don't know it. Sadly, I knew these things very well long ago. However, she did give a wonderful, succinct, short, talk to clearly state the position. Her talk is a nice reference for those that seem to end a conversation with the crusher "nuf-said" or "not up for debate".

I love debate or discussion and I make an effort to listen to the other view with the understanding that I might be arguing the wrong side.

It is a topic that I seem to run into often these days.

For example: I cannot vote for Hillary but there is a large sect of America that thinks they have found the second incarnation of Jesus Christ. One of us is wrong and it could be me! Would I know it if I was?

I wonder if it occurred to the kid that shot up the Dallas police that he could be wrong? Did he ever consider that his hours on the hate group forums could have brought him to an incorrect conclusion? Much more difficult for me, did I ever study his position and wonder if maybe I don't see things correctly? One of us is badly wrong but would we know it?

Watch at YouTube

Study the people in this news reel. Ignore the speaker and ignore the message. Look at the hundreds of thousands of people that knew they were doing the right thing.

Often I find myself simply suggesting that my absorption of the world around me using my 5 senses over decades of time, has led me to certain opinions and a certain understanding of life on earth. I am cognizant of the fact that other's intake of the world may have brought them to different conclusions.

BS.

Our universe did start over 13B years ago to the point of being considered fact by all credible scientific academies.

You are no one to talk down to scientist while hypocritically refusing science and cherry picking what you want to imagine about it.

I posted there is no debate because they consider what I posted fact, the idiocy of the old and feeble is amazing.

We agree that the following evidence-based facts about the origins and evolution of the Earth and of life on this planet have been established by numerous observations and independently derived experimental results from a multitude of scientific disciplines. Even if there are still many open questions about the precise details of evolutionary change, scientific evidence has never contradicted these results:

•In a universe that has evolved towards its present configuration for some 11 to 15 billion years, our Earth formed approximately 4.5 billion years ago.

•Since its formation, the Earth – its geology and its environments – has changed under the effect of numerous physical and chemical forces and continues to do so.

•Life appeared on Earth at least 2.5 billion years ago. The evolution, soon after, of photosynthetic organisms enabled, from at least 2 billion years ago, the slow transformation of the atmosphere to one containing substantial quantities of oxygen. In addition to the release of the oxygen that we breathe, the process of photosynthesis is the ultimate source of fixed energy and food upon which human life on the planet depends.

•Since its first appearance on Earth, life has taken many forms, all of which continue to evolve, in ways which palaeontology and the modern biological and biochemical sciences are describing and independently confirming with increasing precision. Commonalities in the structure of the genetic code of all organisms living today, including humans, clearly indicate their common primordial origin

What part of not up for debate do you old simpletons not understand

The age of the universe is 13.77 billion years, with an uncertainty of only 0.4%

This means they are sure the age of the universe is 13.77 B years old with a certainty of 99.6%

The only thing up for debate, is not the actual expansion over 13 B years ago.

It is the .4% possibility the age of the universe is + or - 13.77 B years to a small degree.

That is why it is now considered fact you old crusty ignorant geezers who refuse knowledge.
