I see they have the specs out on the 470P and it is a little lighter. Also recommended battery size is only up to 6s 1100-1400mAh while the M version says 1400-1800mAh. I wonder why the plastic takes a smaller battery? It looks to have the same servos, motor and speed control. It seems like the plastic version might actually have better performance with a lighter battery and overall weight. Anyone else seeing what I'm seeing?

I just noticed the length spec is 705 for the P and 755 for the M. I wonder what is up with that? Could be miss print? Blade length is 380 on both.

I think plastic being cheaper and lighter might be the way to go.

The length is 755 for 470LP.

Weight(w/o battery): 840g for 470LP

Weight(w/o battery): 860g for 470LM

20g is nothing.

Also according to the main website battery requirements for bot models are the same.

Sorry but it looks like you got some bad info.

I should have mine in next 2 days. Still not a huge fan for belt, but why not.

Could be,? I was going off of these links. Didn't make much sense to me on the length and battery differences.
Scroll to the bottom for the specs. They still show what I was talking about. Probably not right though

A quick look at the specs shows it has a low tail gear ratio like most Align models not really designed for those who want to experiment with low head speeds.

Looking at some of the competition they have a > 4:1 ratio where as Align it is 3.7:1.

I hope I am wrong. The T-Rex 500 when I had one had to have a really high head speed, IMO, just to get a stable hover.

Man, what a day. I was just the lucky guy in the right spot at the right time and won a 470L super combo set. I really haven't had time to look at much, as we are still at the Icehouse FF, but it appears to have metal grips and belt tail. I didn't want to get it out of the box until I get home, but it looks like a neat little heli (at least compared to my 700s).

Its a nice kit. Very easy build. Even that i'm not a huge fan of a belt drive heli's , this kit is much better then other previous belt versions.

Does anyone know if Align is going to produce an 1800mah battery for the 470 or do we just have the 1450?

I would guess yes, but there are few other bands that make a batt would fit 470L with out issues.

The 1800mAh optipack has to be put in sideways so to speak with the leads one above the other. The pack will just fit in the other way but then there is no room for a Velcro strap,

The model seems to be a bit nose heavy so the pack as to be placed fully inside the frame. In this position it is under the main gear and pinion but with a good distance there should be no problem.

This is Aligns first model that has 380 blades stock , a belt that goes directly to the idle gear and auto tensioning system.

Couple picture showing my wiring. Also I changed out the ESC to HW60 V4 so I can use the Vbar governor. And a size comparison to a 450L.

Just ordered one of the 470lm combos with 2 pulse 1800s from helidirect. I can't wait to check it out I really liked the 450l so I'm excited about this one. Wish it was tt my self but I think I'll live but if they did make a conversion I would probably switch to tt either way it should be nice

Mabey one day i will actually land one of these things !!

450L or 470L because the 1800 will not fit in 450L. I'm also waiting for TT verson or conversion. But this belt version is much better then anyother 450 size that was released with belt.
