F$!k the FAA, registration and government loving hacks. I do not need your permission or acceptance to fly anymore then i need it to defend myself with my AR15. The only good news would be the eradication of the IRS and other such domestic enemy's of the free American. Not tyranical regulation by unelected bureaucrats.

Well I got into this 1976 or so, there were rules then, so I'm only speaking for myself, but I will continue to follow the rules . So with that said I hope to see some of you guys at Ircha, should be a great time, I really enjoyed it last year.

So the are still not following the Special Rule for Model Aircraft passed in 2012.

I can understand it for commercial operations, but the FAA does not own the sky, they have not made any improvements that affect Model Aircraft and they have been formally told by Congress to leave us alone. What right do they have to go against Congress. They have created a tax on us when only Congress has the right to create federal taxes and trampled our privacy rights in the process with their database that anyone can go to and see where we live and keep our aircraft.

Just Venting.

Dr Ben, I should have included " for now" in my post..
I agree that this is just a slow down, for now, that can turned around very easily at any time...
I plan on flying as I have since 1969, and enjoy our hobby the best I can...

I pray that some dumbass with drone or even a model airplane or heli does not do something stupid that once again puts us on the 6:00p news, but if that stuff keeps happening, people stay in the ears of members of the house and senate, and if the balance of powers shifts in either one or both houses with the next election cycle, then details of the 2016 bills that many of us found so distasteful could pass in a compromise version with way less difficulty.
See...that's just the thing though isn't it? All these fancy new rules and regulations for "Commercial" operated aircraft, and its not even that segment that is causing all of the problems.

We have wildfires active my my area as we speak and drones have shut down firefighting efforts 3 times now, grounding air crews.

Make no mistake about it, more and more rules will keep getting made until the problems start getting resolved. Their approach to "solving" these problems via pilots license for commercial applications have had pretty much ZERO effect on their target (more safety for manned aircraft) as of yet.

Ban the Ban.

The following is the type of behavior and activity that will ground our hobby and will take our flying privilege away. If anyone reading this post knows of someone doing this, please inform them accordingly to help preserve our privileges and save our hobby This is a PRIVELEDGE NOT A RIGHT.

U.S. Federal Aviation Administration UAS Registration Update, dated June 29, 2016

"KEEP YOUR DRONE AWAY FROM WILDFIRES
There are lots of great places to fly your drones, but over or near a wildfire isn’t one of them. In fact, drone operators who interfere with wildfire suppression efforts are subject to civil penalties of up to $27,500 and possible criminal prosecution.
Here’s why it’s important: Aerial firefighting aircraft, such as airtankers and helicopters, fly at very low altitudes, just a couple hundred feet above the ground and in the same airspace as hobby and recreational drones. This creates the potential for a mid-air collision that could seriously injure or kill wildland firefighters in the air or on the ground.

As a result of unlawful drone operations near fires this year, fire managers have temporarily grounded all aerial firefighting aircraft on several occasions for safety reasons. Shutting down firefighting operations could cause wildfires to become larger and can threaten lives, property, and valuable natural and cultural resources.

The bottom line is “If You Fly, We Can’t."

Please fly responsibly – keep your drone away from wildfires."
