yeeaa yeeaa, sure, he has to run down some kid because of me, I think you are seeing the real Raja in that reply

here, let me quote it so he can't remove it
Very interesting
I noticed alot of things in that video.
First off, let me say they all fly "pretty good" though some last alot longer than others.
Second, and on the points of the video:
That guy doesn't seem to be a gasser pilot, he may be just a 3D pilot trying to show off the helicopter for the guy taking the video because:
1) Look at the way he starts the helicopter, that's not the right way to start gassers with pull starts.
2) He is bogging the helicopter in flight most of the time, does not have collective management skills that a seasoned 3D gasser pilot would.
3) Something happens to the motor about 3 minutes into the flight, it cuts out and starts cutting out briefly (misfire) in flight afterwards, which causes him to land right away.
4) He carries the helicopter with the hot muffler on his leg side, if he was wearing shorts he would be screaming. You learn as a gasser pilot to always put the hot muffler on the other side. My point along with the other 3 above why he may be an electric heli pilot full time.

I have been flying a very long time, the last time I flew a gasser was a gas future I like it but was under powered and felt heavy, with today motors I bet it would fly great. I still think Mr. Youngblood had most of the 3d guys beat and with a fb and tail gyro, I have seen him fly in person many times. Maybe I'm just still a little old school.

My comeback to that would be no not going to happen!

a) he's too fat, I would get crushed, and b) he's a guy and I don't sleep with guys, so there!

As for that video, yes I tried to post my detective thoughts on that, I like puzzles and trying to figure out stuff behind the scenes. Notice also the guy doesn't even turn off the helicopter after he lands. We all do that, but that guy may not know where the switch is, read it as it might not be his helicopter. Just an educated guess on my part.

I should go look at the video on youtube and read the comments if any...

Bottom line you will soon be out of sub standard parts and your 700 bucks will be down the drain. When they do die finally there will be no one to bring them back to life like Min Air. Get a used Miniature Aircraft and know you have a real quality piece that now has parts made in Germany. There is a reason Min Air was brought back to life.

I take it Gearhead is banging his cow bell again...kinda like the last Japanese warriors on a remote island in 1950.

Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them

OK

Looked at the video comments, says in french first time with the canopy, breakin with 3 liters of fuel so far, not sure what 60% gas means, and the temperature is 86F that day.

May be just a newbie with gassers, who knows...

you still publicly belittled a young kid that has not been flying as long as you, then you bring in your turbo friend to help you justify yourself,

people look up to you Raja, yet you act like that

I didn't belittle anybody

I just made some observations about the video. Stop reading too far into things and trying to make a mountain out of a molehill.

And FWIW, I still think it wasn't his heli, he was just flying for the video.

Ain't that the truth. I have over the years have watched many videos with the brand in question promoted by the promoters at the time and they never panned out. Only gripes from consumers as to poor customer service of very questionable quality parts. All have left it seems except one.

Their were many versions of the Radikals gassers, from the relatively expansiveness basic G-10, molded head versions to the full zoot V2 Carbon versions.

Which one did you have RM3?

I now have a stretched G20 using a G30 boom, 696mains, running carbon everything, custom 2024 alloy frame, vertical supports, solid 6061 pinion block, stroker motor making 3.3hp @ 12500rpms (as opposed to the 1.8 of the stock 20), custom clutch, align FBL head and align tail. TT...

AND it STILL flies like $hit

I just LOVE the skid!!

Let me guess, you tried to tighten the setscrew that holds it in place and the plastic just cracked like an eggshell!

Yeah that happened to me during the build

I never even felt it hit the skid it seemed, just cracked waaaay too easily. I had to be a "modeler" and put goop all over the skid and slide it into the strut in position to hold it.

I am assuming you started off with the basic, inexpensive entry level G-10 version of the Radikal G-20.

It seems that what you are showing is not really a Radiakal is it? Most of the systems, from power train, to tail, to clutch system, mainframe etc.etc, are no longer original components, but those from other manufacturers or components that you have made yourself.

Maybe, rather then calling it a Radikal, you should refer to it as an RM3-700 GS as it now seems to be something of your own design. As such, how it flies may be attributed more to what you have done.

A more up to date and more fair a comparison, would be to build the latest version of Radikal, the G-30V2FBL, which comes with a full Carbon frame, CNC aluminum bearing seats and frame stiffeners, HD clutch system, CNC FBL rotor head, HD Swashplate, full torque tube drive, two point (top and bottom) tail rotor bellcrank system, C/F landing gear struts, painted F/G canopy, etc. etc,. This heli is a far cry from ANY of the sport versions.

Just curious, are you using the same gear ratio as was in the original sport version of the G-20 with your 3.3HP modded engine?

Phil
