The other day I was flying around and started shooting Autos....I have done hundreds....But This day was going to be different......As the heli was descending over some trees and onto my field I just caught out of my peripheral view that this was going to be off my mark so I decided to flip my throttle hold off and make another pass....This is when my brain farted on me.....My finger could not find my Throttle hold switch for nothing!!!....Running out of blade speed and altitude I piro-ed and realized the heli would settle from about 6 inches high... 10rpm.....How about the heli did a walk (skid-to skid) and leaned over and tore my blades up!!!.....Just one of those days I guess!!!

Ever had a brain fart at the wrong time????
..yeah...like the second time I said "Will you Marry me?"...

WTF was I thinking...

Or like when a bought a second Radikal...

Or When I started my Gasser on Idle up 1...

Or Like when doing my first loop...

Or like every single time I buy $100 - $200 machining equipment/tools... to fix a $20 part.

showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...

Worst mistakes I made in the hobby.

if you wanna go there

Buying a cheap brand and losing flying time because of it.

Hot starts yep still do em at least once a year but not as bad as when I first started out.

I have had pipes fall off and come loose and had 1 jam the throttle partly open, I had to watch a full tank empty itself at high idle

doing elevator flips in normal mode still happens once in a blue moon, but I'm getting good at it

putting tail blade on back wards, " oddly it still worked

hit throttle hold while flying a 450 by accident to bad it wasn't set up for bail out. stood there and watched it fall 20 feet

I'm sure I have some more I am forgetting about

spending time, paying attention

<=== Goblin 500 and 380 into terrafirma due to not flipping that damn idle up 1 switch... I like others had to stand there and watch them fall with no rotor revs to save it at the bottom.... BUT then I got to rebuild them and make them better..Is this a great hobby or what ????

I dream of a better world, A world where a chicken's crossing a road IS NOT questioned

First and hopefully only blade stop due to hitting throttle hold in flight. Sorry to hear about your Heli.

I have a 3D heli, I don't understand why it doesn't do 3D

WOW, done that more than a few times. We have that 'I can fix that' syndrome without the cost/result ratio.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

Everyone has had a couple. I had 3 hot starts in a row one time before I realised the rx wasn't turned on. For some reason I can never remember my tx has throttle hold.

There is never a right time to have a brain fart. I have had a lot more than my share and all have been expensive.

One of my best was to carry my nitro model out to the flight line and could not understand why it would not spin the blades up !!
Thought it was my E model I had not started the engine lol

"Thought it was my E model I had not started the engine lol"

Now that's funny, that one gave me a good laugh.

Well, we have all done this one I'm sure. I just set up a nice Hirobo Evo .90 and installed a brand new set of Rotor Tech 710 blades, spooled it up and started to lift off into a hover, I gave it some left and it went right, just tipped over enough to destroy my blades......
I had the swashplate reversed, took about two seconds to destroy a $125 set of nice brand new blades. I checked the swashplate movement and it was right, looking at it from the front............

all one can say is that brain ferts can be good, warms up under the blankets on a cold night,

Cerebral gaseous expulsion of odoriferous anti matter, always useful in removing unwanted element in a time of personal defense and or assertiveness.

My helis may have a fert or two but me, never, usually my mind becomes pebbles in times the helis position is unrecognizable, corresponding panic'd stick movements causing unwanted removal of government issue financial notes necessary to wipe up the environmental catastrophe.

What's a BF sound like anyway?

I saw a pilot that is one of the best I have ever seen......as he was getting ready for a second flight.....I asked him how long it had been since he had his tail blades off. He said he put them on before he came to the field. I pointed to them and asked how it was flying. The blades were on backwards. He said he thought the heli was acting funny.....

I've had brain farts that you can smell from a distance!

Try flipping a heli in normal mode.

Twice.

You figure I'd learn the first time.

Ah I see helimech did the same. Sorry, but that's just dumb, man! LOL
