I'm looking for recommendations on 6s 5000 mAh packs from the choices stated.

My primary questions for anyone that has experience with these packs are:

1) How many cycles did they last under heavy use?

2) Did they have as much power/punch at cycle number 100, 200, and 300 as they did when new?

3) Were they charged often at 2C and/or 3C?

I tend to buy better quality packs that will last several years. I have several Hyperion G3 packs and Gens Ace that went well over 300 cycles (and 4 years)

These will be flown in matched sets as 12s in a 700 heli.

Also, I want to avoid HK and similar "bargain" packs as I've tried them in the past (as warm up packs) and they felt weak after 20 flights and didn't even make it to 100 cycles before puffing.

Thanks for any and all input!

RC Heli Nation is compiling a battery database now. Listen in every week for updates. Good info

Thanks Russell.

How do you view that stuff on RCHN?

Do I have to be a paid member?

I don't see & can't find the database.

Thanks czorzella.

I found the rcgroups link on HF too.

I've read about 20 of the last 30 pages of posts. I'll probably post up there soon to see what the latest recommendations are.

It looks like Hyperion are no longer a good choice.

I won't be much help as im a big Turnigy fan! Note I said Turnigy not Zippy which aren't as good. Some of the best longest lasting packs i've had have been Turnigy!

How a pack performs and how long it lasts is down to how you treat them and spotting a bad one from the get go when you should have sent it back for replacing.

Be aware that there are no Li-Po's available that are much above 30C! If they say they are, they are lying!

Thanks Richard.

I didn't mean to ignore you (saw your post in the main discussion ).

Turnigy might be ok but I know they are a bigger gamble so I'd rather pay a little more. Also, I do not like ordering from HK.

I know the C ratings are not what they seem. I just use them as a general reference when dealing with lipos.

The link is pretty cool. I think I saw something similar several years ago but can't remember where.

I would still go with the Hyperion packs. Never had one die from old age. I would toss them after 4 years for the heck of it. I had my CC Card stolen when i used HK. Not to mention my edf had a bent shaft out of the box. Try "All RC" if there still in business?
