Its great when the kids get involved. Ive started teaching my 5 year oldto fly planks and when the time comes he will get his first auto lesson from Raja also
I just posted this latest progress update on the "other side"
Outing Sunday 9:30am to 2:30pm
Sunday I took Joey out for a day of father son flying. He is really progressing well with his Sensei trainer. This is his 5 or 6 session and he got 6 more flights ( a record) to bring his total up to 22 or 23 flights now.
Last time we flew I turned down the self level aids so he has more control and tried to teach him to be gentle with inputs and not just bang the sticks. He still has a 5 year old's attention span, but he is definitely getting more patient, he gets distracted less and we have moved from him just banging the sticks randomly around the sky to being able to follow dad's directions and try to be more deliberate about where he is pointing the plane.
This time we worked on figure 8s and I started explaining e concept of the landing pattern. If he keeps improving at this rate I think by the fall I might be able to let him start trying to use throttle and work on climbs/dives/maintaining altitude and maybe even think about landing approaches.
Along the way I got a couple short flights in on the Edge and Helix.
