I have a align 450 sport that's in a md 500 fuse, change it to fbl with a mini ikon rail blades, and flies great. bought off e-bay for 100 bucks. Having fun with it. Now I think I would like to put a 4 bladed head make it look better. Any ideas on whos head and blades I should get? Thanks Cliff

Copter X makes one.
I also have a 450 sport in a 500D fuse. It is converted to a V3 torque tube and stretched with the dominator boom and blades. Had to stretch the fuse as well. Very fun to fly, looks weird flying inverted across the field.

keep the thread running. doing the same thing with a t rex 450 pro { 4 bladed head for the "d" version }. would like to track and follow your progress and pick your brain for details in the build. especially when it comes to phasing and tracking tips. much appreciated. meow

That head will work if it has been machined correctly, but word to the wise... completely disassemble the head and check it out before flight. Make sure the thrust bearings are installed in the correct direction and greased. Locktite (blue) the screws when you reassemble it. Install the head block on a main shaft and spin the shaft in your drill to check for runout (wobble). My last CopterX head was a real winner...

My 450 now has the copter x 4 bladed head flies very nice, very smooth head speed 2050, And Mojave is right on, my head thrust bearing were wrong on 2 blades and use blue lock tight on the bolts. You also want to run larger tail blades, I went to 64mm tail blades, tail much better.

Should be no phasing issues with a 4 blade head. Simply 2 two bladed heads .. Setup same as for two blade.

you guys are a great help. tho i'm not new to heli's, I am new to electric and multiblade. seems I've been in hiatus for too long. { love the smell of burning nitro in the morning } . been building models since I was a little squirt back in the early '50's with my dad.
have been detailing plastic kits since I can remember. now, with the radio systems we have today, it seems logical to apply the accumulated talents into a functional scale creation. cheeeze, I can remember single channel pulse signal control. my dad crashed many a kit with that little push button box.
am begging my girlfriend to let me upload pix so I can post them for you. she let's me play on her computer on the weekends after my honey do's are done. i'm proud of the extent I can go with detail. I guess all those years in auto body are finally paying off. hoping that todays begging will let me load pix, would love to get your input, opinions and suggestions as well.
perhaps you guys CAN teach an old dog new tricks.
