The stock tail control arm is plastic and it snaped at the ball link but was still hanging on by a thin strip of plastic which i think kept the blades from deflecting all out and creating a faster spin. I have since fixed that issue with a metal control arm.

I did replace the metal tail box gears with Align 600 tail gears that I had on hand. So that would be the one torque tube gear and the aling 600 tail rotor shaft. The shaft is just a touch shorter the the roban shaft but it works fine.

A trex 600 tail gear box assemble is a direct fix replacement for the roban gear box. The 700 gear box housing will be to long. The tail boom slides into the 600 box farther then the 700. The 700 gear box makes the tail too long and it will not fit the fuse.

Sorry for the confusion.. The only difference between the 600 and 700 tail assembly is the gear case itself. The gears and tail shaft and pitch slider and rudder control arm are the same.

The fans are Castle Creations but don't follower me, i went overboard with the fans.Using one on the ESC is good but it's also not needed if you have good working electronics. I thought that my motor was getting extremely hot but it wasn't. I replaced the bearings and added temperature sensor. Both the esc and motor are in the 140F range.
The foller was for a Align 700 3gx rotor head It was hard to find. I think I called around to hobby shops an asked if they had a 12mm follower / driver.. I think it was heli direct but I'm not sure. You can also get one from East Coast Vario for $85. Century doesn't make theirs anymore and you can't find one.

Murphy's Law is still in dominate with this AS350 mech's. I had a tracking issue and a wobble so I removed the mech's and found that one blade grip spindle was bent. [?] Anyway, I ordered a new spindle and grip assembly. I got it repaired and the head re trim. So I spooled up to check tracking and had to make a couple of adjustments. I spooled out for the 3rd time and BANG!!! the head exploded. Two spindles snapped just behind the grip and the 3rd spindle was bent bad. Destroyed the blades and ripped off the tail boom and torque tube.

So I have had it with this 3 blade head!!! I'm done. So my AS350 will sport a 2 blade head with some new 700mm Spin Blades ... It's on the test platform and ready to test this weekend. Here's some "Oh Crap" photo's.

Well crap!!! Not what I wanted to see. Sorry to hear it.

I have actually tried to get ahold of a Astar head like Emile's for a better scale look. But haven't heard back from them on it yet. Mine may be a shelf queen..... Or put up for sale.....

Not Good..,

Sorry to hear this about the head... definatly not a common problem...
I am beginning to get "spooked" after reading these posts!!!
That 2 blade with the Spins should fly it nicely...
What is the weight of your machine??
Could it be the weight, HS, or the vibes that caused the head to let go???
