Yes it does go to show something .. It is that the many so called fools are right and the real fools are the so called wise men that think that a criminal can be reformed .They wont believe it untill something bad happens to them or their loved ones .. Then I would bet they change their minds fast. ..In other words,:there are no aethiests in a foxhole
.Its a shame that those so called wise men seem to be running the show and the fools may be fools for letting them..

Democracy

I guess it doesn't work. It has been a long 200 yrs and America is insignificant. (Sarcasim)

Oh yea, then there is Israel. 60 yrs and they are still in caves too.

60 Years! One of the most advanced civilizations and militarys in the world...... Democracy in action.

Some other countries have been around for a thousand years and still can't get their toilets to work. No wonder they hate us. They are soooo stupid the best they can come up with exploding themselves next to us. Oh thats smart, I guess dictatorships breed some real winners.

If any other country were wiped out by a asteroid, it would be on the news for a few weeks. If America were wiped out, the world economy would crumble. We feed the world, cloth the world, power the world, and assit even enemies after disasters (recent quake in Iraq) not to mention 11 billion in aid to Africa's AIDS/orfan crisis. I hate to use this site to argue, but cant remain silent if people dis my country. I am Irish, British and German, but thank God I'm an American.

And in a democracy you have the right to vocally disagree. We Americans agree on very little, except on democracy. Many American fools are voting their democracy down the toilet though, maybe Kino was right.

Hope the poor guy in the UK gets his heli back. Tell France and the UN, maybe they will pass a resolution and send some inspectors, shouldn't take more than about 12 years. By then Iraq will be a prosporous free democracy and hopefully America wont be socaillist, we are heading that way thanks to idiot voters (stay home please, Jerry Springer is on the tele and the goverenment promised to take care of you).

a little over dramatic don't you think.!!!

Are you telling me that as a result of america no longer being there the UK would be no longer a viable entity.

Sure it would cause problems but do you really think we would just roll over and die because America was no longer dominate.

Remember the UK was the head of a huge empire, but during the first and second world wars we blew the accrued wealth of the empire defending what was seen to be right, now we are a has been.

America may do the same.

By the way India, China cloth the world I worked in textile machinery eg looms etc and I don't seem to remember many sales to America your labour costs are to high.

And you wonder why people take the piss - get a grip guys

Just look on your clothes tags.

I fore see a future where things have been turned upside down. China and India.

We (the Western societies) are bending over backwards to bring other countries along to the 21st Century. At the cost I must say of local jobs

and will be selling oil to the US at rock bottom prices just as your relationship with Venezuela (currently one of the most important US oil suppliers) goes up in smoke as you've been ignoring their poverty problems since 9/11 and they ain't happy. Convenient. Both the former US treasury secretary, Paul O'Neill, and the US Army War College have spoken out against the war with Iraq and if there is that amount of political dissent in the US then there may be some truth to the claim that the war had US political importance. There is an element of Devil's advocate in what I've said, but I think I need my flame suit all the same....

PS Pullpitch, the earthquake was in Iran, not Iraq, but I guess they're both so far away it makes little difference.

PPS Thanks for dropping a bomb on Yorkshire. You really should attach them better to your F15's.

I would have to say that you're way off as regards to your self-aggrandizing statement.

At various times , the world seemed as though it could not do without some entity or other. We lived through these changes nonetheless.

Don't just look at your clothes' tags , look at your TX , at your heli .......

Peace and Cheers.

Oh yeah funny ha ha
I meant the made in part. 75% + of clothing sold in Australia would be made in either China or India. Even the big local brands have moved their manufacturing off shore. At the expense of Aussie jobs

Davo,You do make some sense on your Iraq statement ..On the other hand ,if those rag head morons are blowing themselves up there ,isnt that better than here ? I think on that Bush and and Blair have it right .. Keep the morons killing themselves there ..I do agree that we are getting a few of our guys killed ,but I have seen that on a thousand times larger scale and under not any better circumstances.. I still think the best way to deal with radical people like that is just kill them all and take what we need or want from there then .. If the tables were turned ,they would not hessitate to do that to us and england. But there arent that many people in the mid east from Iran Iraq Saudi Arabia and the rest there .We dont have to worry about therest yet and I would bet if we just made a parking lot for out oil trucks there the rest of the world would kiss our ass for also taking care of at least half the problems they have too.. They need oil too and they either arent big enough or have enough power or they are chicken to try to get any ..If the USnd Britian invaded those coutrys for oil ,you would think the price of oil now would be 5 cents a gallon ..Seems like it is a few cents higher than that .. But I bet if we did open the oil fields there for the world ,It would take the Americans and the British to get it for use by the world .. Another thing ,Paul Oniel said yesterday that he wishes he could take those statements back and when he was asked who he would vote for this next election ,HE SAID BUSH. There was no candidate on the left worth voting for .. Seems that if he dissagreed with Bush and Blair that much ,he would be saying something totally different .

Bee hive

Sturred it up!

I know the earthquake was in Iran. Sorry for misspelling. They hold our citizens as hostages and we aid them after a quake, and the world still dumps on us.

Sorry to hurt peoples feelings but America is the dominate economic force in the world.

Most unskilled LABOR is farmed out, true but we are the economic engine. Nike shoes are not made here, but it is an American company. We have to farm out the LABOR because many Americans think they deserve high paying jobs doing somthing a monkey could do and would do for half a banana. It is true there are fat lazy Americans, a byproduct of our prosparity. One must develop skills to separate themselves from the masses, at least in a free market.

I did not say the UK would be unviable. I said the world economy would crumble if America would disappear. More so than the loss of any other country. Of course the economy would recover, somewhat, eventually.

Why is it our fault that Venezulea has abundant oil and poverty? Should we give their citizens free cash even though their government is sitting on billions of barrels of oil? Yes Iraq will have lots of oil, but now it will go to schools and hospitals, not palaces and torture chambers. Supply and demand will set the price of oil. We love to spread freedom, sometimes we fail. Vietnam, Korea etc. But when the opertunity comes to spread freedom that also serves our own interest we jump on it. Is that so bad?

Many awesome products come from Japan, radios tele etc, they have strong engineering skills and good work ethics. But where was the telephone invented? the radio? radar? television? GPS? reusable spacecraft? on and on and on.

I'm not trying to put anyone down, I just love my country, or whats left of it.

One clarification

I should have placed quotations around "fat lazy Americans". I used the term because that is what we are often refered to as. I am not putting down fat people, as I am one, just not lazy or waiting for government handouts.

And one more point - if America is so such a bad place to live, why is the imagration in to immagration out ratio about a million to one (HUGE - I dont know the actual number just making a point).

Again not putting anyone down, just defending my country.

Peace.

From my brief research on Google I have found these inventors:

telephone - Alexander Graham Bell (Scottish-American)
radio - Guglielmo Marconi (Italian) / Nikola Tesla (Serbian-American)
radar - Sir Robert Watson-Watt (Scottish)
television - John Logie Baird (Scottish) amongst others
GPS - Ivan A. Getting (American)
Reusable spacecraft - NASA

So the moral of the story is if you want to invent, be American.... or Scottish!!!

How the bloody hell did we get here? Funny how threads get so off topic!

Anyhow, I hope Weaselmeister's helicopter turns up soon and they hang the person who stole it by their dangly bits.

Thanks Davo

Gotta love the Brits for the Harrier jump jet too!

Makes my hair stand up to see one in action.

Sorry to get so far off track. With all of our differences, I bet we would all get along and burn a case a glow together.

Hope the heli robber is found.

Hi guys,

No news yet on my stolen gear.

I've dropped pictures off to my local hobby shops and been trawling all the newspaper and internet adds, as well as E-bay, but I've come up with diddly squat. It's as if my fury has just vanished into thin air.

No news from the insurance company just yet, either. On the plus side its given me lots of time to work out a suitable replacement if/when the money comes through, and the weather's pretty crappy at the moment so I'm not missing too much by not being able to fly.

Anyway I'll keep checking all the adds in the hope that I can trace the scumbags who stole everything and will keep you posted if I hear anything.

Wes

Pull Pitch,
The Harrier was built by the Brits but don't forget that it was our "jar heads", the U.S. Marines, that used it to its maximum potential. They learned how to fly it in ways that had never even been imagined before (vectoring in forward flight, for example).

so the UK was'nt the first to use the harrier in combat and the Falklands was just a ride round the park. What were the odds there, 20 odd harriers v 200 odd planes can't be true.

I forgot the RAF were a bunch of mummies boys who were frightened of wringing performance out of anything

Dan C,
I'm not downplaying the development of the Harrier or calling the RAF a bunch of pansies; on the contrary I think they're great "flyboys". I'm just bringing to light the fact that "VIFFing" was invented by the USMC pilots.(credit where credit is due)
