Finally finished my Helibug Conversion. I must say very impressed with the build and how she went together with no problems. Had test fight last Sunday AMAZING very pleased. No vibrations loads of power for my type of flying last forever on a tank of fuel.

Nice finish, congrats. If you dont mind a question, I am starying mine at the moment, and I have found the Helibug bearings are thinner than Align units, and I have slop in the elevator control shaft. Did you run into this , if so what was your fix. Or did you use align bearings??

wow nice job.....just want to put out there

im just starting myself with gassers, i just want to talk about those battery connectors you have, i had same type on my predator, and in mid flight hover, they came undone, and they where strapped and crashed really bad, had no gen or backup battery, so did not end well,

but it looks nice, i would love to upgrade a trex one day....just got to learn how to fly better.....LOL

Hi Raptornoob
Sorry to hear about your loss, those connectors are xt60, I've been using these for ages now with no issues. I've got them on my turbine Vario Cobra, Vario R22 and all my electric Helis. The only thing I can suggest is not to over heat the pins when soldering they will become loose. Good luck with your build and post your progress. I've just tidied up my plumbing and converting her to flybarless will post when done.

Double Decks, Thank's for the reply, and the info on the elevator shaft. It is the side play I am ;ooking at. I measured the align bearings in the align frames and the helibug ones, and thats where the difference is. So shim it out I shall. Thanks for the info. I look forward to seeing the end results of you FBL conversion, and which head and shaft, and controller you use. Want to go FBL after getiing mine sorted.

Nice looking Heli. You may want to put a loop in your vent line or try to run it up higher.

Thought I would wake the thread up. Oweing to other commitments, I have made zero headway with this project till the last week or so when I decided time to do a bit more and get this heli in the air. So I had to cut the supplied engine cooling cowl up a bit and remake it somewhat as it was moulded out of shape(came with motor) so thats now re fibreglassed and fits fine. Bought a used GY750 with gyro, and am starting to do final fit-up. I bought the gy750 as I am going to go fbl if I can find the rite head for it. Would like a fbl head but not dfc style, and it seems no one stocks them anymore, if any one can offer any help or advice on this that would be great.

Whiskey - check out DDM for filters, they have other choices too. This one requires an adapter, buy the one without a choke.
