Has anyone mounted a digital camera (I have a Canon S10 kicking around) and transmitted from the digital out for aiming? This sounds like a brilliant idea because it eliminated a second video camera and also it is perfectly aligned since it is the same sensor.

I am building this now but am away from my Raptor 30. Will someone please tell me how much space is between the skids? Both at the wide spot and also 2 inches up? Thanks.

I am building one that will fit between the existing struts. It will house a Canon S10, a video transmitter, and a battery for the transmitter. Also a servo for the shutter.

I´ve tried it with the Canon G1 using the video out port directly to the vdo transmitter. The only problem is the camera shuts down the image output 2min later after any photo. To restart the video signal the autofocus switch must be pressed.
Initially I made a camera pod but the heli has some vibrations at 1/4 stick tha makes the whole structure start the chicken dance. The I changed the original undercarriage and put a fiber hand made one similar as the one used in the Sukoi acrobatic plane. It´about 20cm hight and 40 cm wide, made with 30 fiber layers. That allows the camera to hang ever when vertical shots at least at 10cm from ground.
I´ve made some photos of it but as I´ve only one digi cam and it was placed there, it was taken with a standart one so must wait untill the film ends to scan it.

The Sony digitals with the video out port will not shut down when the plug is in. I have the Sony S-85 and it ROCKS! I still have to build the carriage unit for my Gasser before it goes in the air but it works great on the ground with the T-4 transmitter.

Now this is what I am talking about

I would have never thought about using the digi-cam for aiming. Right now I am using a Fujifilm Endeavor 3000ix. The first pics that I took were with my LMH and they were very blurry. Since then I haven't been able to mount the trigger servo securely enough. I think I might try and mod it with a micro switch.

If anyone is wondering why I use this camera. Well lets just say, My girlfriend, my camera and a pool of water.
