Compass vs Mikado

To Justin Stewart...EXCUSE ME???? that rubber band is in my Heli for 3 + years now and still holding good!... Don't under estimate the looks of that Heli if you haven't flown one!... Most guys are only after the bling appearance and not the performance!... Your $3000. Heli will NOT outperform my $1500. Heli!... Believe me!

Sorry but you can't compare a compass heli to a Mikado heli, you can not.... Have had every Compass heli other then the 6HV, needless to say I don't have em anymore. Now that said I've heard they are progressing and getting better. But with a Logo you build, fly, repeat no BS to deal with. So whatever you are into, I am into flying when I have time and hate dealing with issues.
I buy, try and fly everything under the sun, cause I like to and want to know for myself. Flame suit on, I don't care but there are more then a few helis of various brands that need alot of improvement even still b4 I consider even to try them again. Lots of hype gets people buying and in the end many are just that "hype"...

Mikado have been making electric 3D helis longer than anyone (I think?).

Compass? Sorry is there a heli company named Compass? ...

...ah yes I seem to remember something about a Knight 50? Was that a good heli I can't remember?! lol. Just joking with ya im sure the 6HV does the job just fine.

60% of the time, it works every time!

Why the need to take offense and be rude? I was only asking for a photo so that I might understand exactly what helicopter we are talking about. Everyone knows what a Logo 600 is, but I have a very vague idea what a Compass 6HV or HVS or whatever the new model looks like.

Looks like it still has a DFC head….but they changed it. I thought it was the "best" DFC head

Having the "best" of a bad design doesn't make it good

I can echo Shawn's comments above. I have owned almost every Compass heli since the Knight 3D and would not put them in the same league as Mikado. As long as they stick with DFC heads I will never own another one.

thanks everyone for the info... yes this money is burning a huge hole in my pocket and im afraid it will fall out by this weekend

the logo 600 is as light as the 6hvu with a 3700 pack vs a 3000 pack so theres still a big difference in weight..

im going to go with a mikado, compass may be a great heli but I like light and thats what a logo 600sx is..

"Looks like it still has a DFC head….but they changed it. I thought it was the "best" DFC head "

Compass has never had, nor will it ever have, a "DFC" head.

DFC heads have rigid links and solid dampers. The Compass "SZ" heads, have flexible links and use actual dampers.

Both are driverless heads, both are not "DFC."

Compass is offering both the SZ head and a drivered head. Both will be available as some prefer one type to the other.

The new SZ head does have some changes (I have been flying it for several months now), but it still retains the flexible links and actual dampers.

Just because it was the best driverless head, does not mean that it could not be made better still.

Surprisingly still the same bashing on Compass heli's, why i don't know guys. Let it rest.

All Compass heli's are worthy competitors in today's heli market. I own both the Logo 600 and the new 6HV Ultimate. Well i can only tell that i'm now considering selling of my Logo.

The new 6HVU is as quiet as the Logo but tracks more precise, and yeah all the BS about the socalled "DFC" head. Align made up that name for their Compass knock off head. It's just like Rak42 stated, Compass never had that type of head. The new head has just been made better.

I fly the new 6HVU for several months now, it's a pre production kit and it's a wonderfull kit. It lives up to my standards and i haven't had to upgrade or adjust things to make it fly well. It just flies great right out off the box.

But i think you need to buy what you think you'd like the most, but i can tell you that you can't go wrong with the new Compass.

You are flying a preproduction Compass Heli....team pilot. Of course you are thinking of selling the Logo. I am an admitted Mikado fanboy but I am not a member of Mikado's team.
I sold all my Compass Helis, no need for me to own one now and IMO the Logo 600 is the best, most complete, all around Heli on the market.

I dont see what all the hype is about for the 6hvu. The 6hv has been out long enough to warrant a redesign. The 6hvu is just an upgraded kit.......of stuff they should have probably offered along the way. The way people have been talking about it, youd think it was a different heli. I see a 6hv with a warp lid.

Batteries are still hanging off the front like a fat kid on a see saw.
