I dont if you all get your hand on the dominator yet? Well I own both of these birds both extended.

The ( DOMINATOR fly well but too soon to tell if it can out fly the Mini proto.?

I Noticed )
The mini Proto is still lighter, can use various type of electronic setup from 2 to 6s, less Vibration,

while the dominator only use 6s, and had some vibe).
I'M now trying to get it to use a 4s setup with 2010 kv motor.

I extended all my older 450 pro, sport, 450 plus, and favor them over the dominator)

I never thoughts nothing could out do the Mini Proto!!.

what you guy's think??

Id say no based on your own initial assessment.

The Protos also doesn't use that stupid sliding tray for a single battery pack...that was the only dumb design I saw on the new 450L...why put the extra lock, tray and rail on the heli if your only using 1 battery... The protos is also not so picky about pack shape...

And yes Ive seen the mechanics of one in person. I am also not a fan of the inset plastic into the CF frame but it appears to work just fine so I let that one slide.

The gear train on the Protos is also superior in regards to durability...as long as you do what is necessary to eliminate the static which I already know how to do.

The new 450L IMHO winds in the looks, bling, and static category. From there the pretty much has the rest. Due to the lightness of the Protos and the fact that its just a smart, quiet, clever design I don't think too many will jump on the band wagon of claiming the 450L is better...but they will say its another sweet option which is good.

Last, I think I still like the old 450 Pro(latest version) vs the new big guy...its simpler and flys like a bat out of hell. I may try the extended boom thing since i believe they are compatible with the new align parts...

I had a mini protos and now have the 450L. I like the 450L because it has better parts support, don't have to buy extra stuff to stretch it, cheaper to setup...

the mini-p for me would easily loose orientation because of all the black, 450L is way easier to see for me..

450L has way more power, now my mini was only 3s so can't compare too much on that part..

yes the battery tray is annoying at first but easy after a few times, plus helps with cg and protect the battery more..

overall comparing the mini-p on 3s vs the 450L on 6s I prefer the 450L, now if mikado, synergy, or goblin ever make a heli this size I would jump on that like a chicken on a junebug

final note, I dont think these are going to be competetors anyway, I think the x3 would be more targeted towards mini-p users since their both close to kits.

I love my X3. Flies smooth as silk. I mean after the first 3 flights, the vibration analyzer barely registers anything. I am using a Robird G31. I have not flown a mini P. But I have a stretched TT se V2 on 6s. I have also flown the Warp 360.

Just buy the Guai. You will love it. The quality of the kits blows Align out of the water. Not even a contest.

I haven't seen the x3 yet and I was planning to get one sometime once parts are here, but I wouldn't say that considering a lot of people are having main grip slop develop and are unsure of the cause

Thank for pointing that out I have seen that flaws too when
I tried to use 2 of my 1300mah pack from my Rex 250 in series
there was no room to mount tje 2nd pack. And it not easy to work on the back end.

I know gaui is making good product lately just have Not see too many of their MOD. I going to look for it , why the call it x3
is it a 300 size heli like the like those esky stuff??.

I upgrade all my 450 with the dominator parts and they fly alot
Better than stock.

I like the mini Proto it an amazing lil bird. Parts last you forever.

Another choice is the Jr Forza,I have two,one on 4s and the other on 6s.Over 500 flights between the two in the last 4 months without any problems.Im not using Jr electronics so can't comment on that part, but the Forza on 6s is over 100g lighter than the X3 and I am running 350mm blades.

I'd rather be flying!

that one is nice, and once parts support is in america would be better, but that price hurts

I got mine from RcJapan for $218 4 months ago and it already comes with metal main and tail grips and blades.I Didnt buy the package because I could outfit my heli's way cheaper with hobby king servos(Turngy306hv)Yep40 esc Fu-Bar gyro.Run everything through a Gryphon bec at 7v.

Horizon Hobby list them but not instock.RcJapan has every part instock and it definitely handles crashes better than any 450 I've owned including the Warp 360.Low parts count and inexpensive .

About the JR forza do you have pic of it amean close up? I cant find any good pic to look at. I have seen a Add here they never show the heli without the canopy. Would love to get close look at it.

If you go to RcJapan web site, click on heli's ,then click on parts manual for an exploded view.Since the owb is in the motor pinion everything is much simplified and lighter.

You can get it in various packages but their Tags gyro only works with JR tx's /rx's.
