Is there anybody who knows of a BK117 fuselage for a 30 size heli ?

I've found 60 size fuses but I'm after putting a fuse on my Hawk SE which only has a OS32 and prefer to keep the size down.

I've built a scale Jet Ranger on a Baron 50 before which was straight forward. How much more complicated is having a model with an angled tail rotor drive ?

bk117

hey stebbo!
as far as i know, no one does a 30 size 117. here is what i did. by a stroke of luck, a buddy gave me his schluter bk117 fuselage he had sitting around. yes it is for a sixty but it was still fairly small size especially lengthwise. i got my trusty hawk , put a 50 in it and it flies great. fortunately the fuselage came with the 45 degree gearbox and i had an excell t/r gearbox laying around so to work i went. i could have used a flex cable drive just as easily though like i did with my huey. unfortunately, the schluter fuselage has long been discontinued and the vario fuses are not only a bit pricey, but huge. if you should luck out like i did and end up with a schluter 117, it isnt hard to maunt a hawk/falcon/raven with a 50 in it though. plenty of power. here is a pic.

Your other option would be to go electric micro heli. Century has one coming soon!

Thanks for your replies. CopterDocter your model looks good but a bit big for what I'm after. Have yoy got pic's of the finished model ?

I'll look for a BK117 a bit longer but if no luck I may go for a Twinstar Fuse, there are a few of those around and the build looks straight forward.

Hi Rotorsport, no I have not found a BK117 fuse yet and it looks more likely that I'll not find a 30 size one anywhere. The schulter size BK117 used by Copter Doctor still looks a bit to big for me.
I'll probably go for a Twinstar from Funkey or a Squirrel fuse from EasyScale here in the UK.

hey stebbo

it is still looking like it does in the pics. it is a back burner project that gets flown often enough to keep the dust off. will be ready for next year's meets though.
