I wanted to express my many thanks for the help and encouragement I have received from many of you that posted comments and sugestions. I installed the 3 blade head on my Lama and after trails and trepidations, 2 electronic stabilization units I am no closer today in trying to get it to feel like I am flying with a flybar head, but actually flying the 3 blade scale head. I had help installing a Align 3GX and it didn't work. I have now a microbeast, but this afternoon it too will be out of the heli as it too did little to inspire my confidence and provide enough stabilization that I am comfortable with. I Can fly the hell out of this heli with the flybar, but it seems to be on the verge of a crash the entire time I flew it with the scale 3 blade head. So, I am going back to the flybar head and just enjoy flying it. It might not look too scale sitting on the ground but once the blades are spinning you can't tell to much if it has 2 or 10 blades. I wanted to thank doorman for all his input and efforts. To all of you that posted on Runryder... Thank you. I just couldn't see risking the heli for the sake of being stylish.

Sorry To Hear It Didn't Work Out For You...

Mike, wish I had know that you still were not comfortable with the BeastX in it... if you willing to try one more time, if you give me your cell phone number, I can call you later this evening and walk you through the set up.. I am sure that something just is not set right... let me know, would be glad to go at it once more... sometimes just a little extra help can go a long way..
BUT, if you are coming up to our event in June (7-9) I would be glad to go over your set up and get it dialed in...(YES THIS IS A HINT!!!!)

But if you are past the trying stages, you are correct that the 2 blade head flies just fine and you can enjoy a good looking model.. whether it is in the air or in the pits, it will always be a good looking bird!!!!

Let me know what you think...

Stan

Will be off line until later this evening, but will check in...

Stan thank you for everything. I tried to fly it yesterday in no wind conditions and it was a work out. JC Installed the microbeast but he didn't teach me anything about it. O am not faulting him he was busy helping a lot of other flyers as well. I noticed the swash barely moved sideways or forward or backward after initialization. So I don't know if something changed in the set up. I didn't do anything except turn it on and leave it alone untill it was done doing its thing. Hey Stan my cell number is 409 719 3618. I need to mail back to you your usb

phasing

More than likely you have your phasing off or to high gains on your FBL unit. One of the best FBL controllers that include phasing is the vbar. I have a 500 with 4 bladed head and flys wonderful. Try it again.

Felipe thank you my friend. the phasing is set correctly. The trouble is that I have to set everything mechanical. This helicopter does not employ ccpm. But I assure you the phasing is set correctly. Yesterday I flew it but was very concerned. After I plugged it in and the microbeast when thru initialization I notice that I barely had movement of the cyclic in all directions. What little movement I did have was slow. I hope I didn't fry my servos. When JC intalled it we could not find my particular servos on the beastx list. Anyways they work but are ultra slow which would account for it feeling sluggish at times but in others during the same flight real touchy. So I am confused and a bit frustrated.

Don't give up yet!!! All of my multi blade scalers fly just as good or better than my 2 blade heads. Let Stan have a go of it and see if he can get you dialed in. Good luck. Sometimes the problem is just a simple thing, like moving the link closer to the servo center to tame down the travel, or just a gain issue.

All helis and planes have an expiration date stamped on them...you only find it after you crash!!

Lama and Microbeast

Well I re converted back to the fly bar head With that said, I flew in the front yard, and WOW what a differance it made. The heli tracks like its on rails , controll is super smooth and crisp and it is completely predictable. What a joy, compared to the scale head with the beast felt like mush, and super sensative to input........which I don't understand at all. One second I felt like there wasn't enough controll and the next second I had too much and would have liked the assistance of the Microbeast. I have decided to keep the beast out of the heli for now. I hope in the future I will be able to meet up with an expert on the beast and I at that time will re convert back to the scale head in hopes that it will finally fly like it had a 2 blade head with a flybar. In the meantime, I will enjoy flying it as is, and so far I got that grin back on my face. . Thanks to all who tried to help, this hobby is great, especially when there are great folks out there willing to help out a veteran that fly's the old school way and is ignorant of today's modern marvels.
