Hi

Just checking over the helicopter and setting up cyclic pitch, the left aileron seems to be lacking some, I have checked eveything and even with the ATV wound up to 150 I can only get 5 degrees of cyclic pitch. The right aileron is set at 100 atv and is set at 6.5 degrees,.

I have eveyrthing at 90 degrees (linkages , servo arms etc) the servo appears to move the both amount same sides but pitch is severely lacking.

Has anyone got any suggestions, swash is level at centre stick.

I'm confused !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aileron

Hi David

I messed around with this too, do you think I should set the swash up dead level and eveything square, I was messing around with this and centred the trims then offset the swash so that hover was at centre trim.
I'll give it a try

Thanks

No Joy

Tried it, no better, the only way Im going to improve this is to offset the servo arm so I get equal travel.

Any views ???

Mmmmmm

This ones got me stumped, with everything square, swash level and trims centred I do not seem to have enough left aileron. Nowhere near enough. In fact with everythign squared off, ASTV's equal I get 2 degrees left aileron (cylic pitch) and 7 degrees right.

I can't seem to figure out what the problem is, never had it before, the strange thing is the servo is moving the same amount either direction.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Does it appear that your swashplate is tilting the same amount in both directions. If so, then you will need to adjust something in the head. IF not then you have something wrong below the swashplate.

Have you flown the helicopter yet? Or a better question is have you tracked the blades yet. Maybe one blade has a bit more pitch than the other and you are seeing that in the cyclic.

If you are getting 5 degrees with 150% ATV and 6.5 with 100 ATV then move the servo arm a few splines. Maybe that will balance the throw for you.

This is peculiar

Yes I am measuring the cyclic pitch as you describe, blades at 0 degrees and running nose to tail along the line of the boom. The swash doesnt move equal amounts in both directions. The linkages from the swash back to the servo arm are all factory set as you know and unadjustable, the only adjustable one being the small link directly from the servo to the first crank arm. This is set as described in the manual. The servo horn in at 90 degrees and ther swash is level. The thing that is baffling me is the servo arm moves the same amount in either direction. On measuring the cyclic movement it is nowhere enar the same as described above. I only have 3 degrees left with 7 degrees right now.

I have checked my dual rates also and they are equal, I have checked for binding and can't find the problem.

I am considering increasing the servo arm length to increase throw and reducing ATV's, the only trouble is the ATV wont be equal, your views ??

Cheers
