SHOCK!

is what I felt, when I read this post today. I've been busy and away from the forums for a couple of weeks, so, this is new to me. After reading all of the post I feel like I knew Ron personally, although I never had the pleasure of meeting him. In this day and time, it is indeed rare to meet someone so warmhearted and giving as Ron Kyle. He will be missed but certainly not forgotten.
My deepest sympathy to the Klye family.
To Julie, Billy and son, and everyone involved, may God bless you, and comfort you. I've decided that before the next time I fly, I'm going to place a label, on my Tx with the letters: FSFR (Fly Safe, For Ron)

My deepest sympathy goes out to Ron's brothers. Ron was a very friendly guy who loved flying both helis and airplanes. He always was willing to help anyone.
I was shocked to find out that it was Ron who died. We lost a good guy.
Lets lookout for each other at the field. I know Ron would.

Well...I just dont know what to say....this is just a terrible accident!!

My condolences to Ron, his brother, his friends, and all who knew him.

Special condolences to Julie and Billie and their family. This was an accident and nobody is to blame. If you read an insensitive post on here, just disregard it. Not all people are sensitive. I feel for you guys!!!!! It could have happened to any one of us. Thank God we are a tight knit bunch of heli flyers. God Bless You!!!

VERY VERY SADDDD.....

Let us not just think about this as an isolated incident,
but look at it as a lesson that Ron paid the ultimate
price.
We should all learn from it and passing the lesson on
to others is our responsibility.....

my condolences to the family....

RIP...

Sorry to hear that, my prayers go out to his family and friends, and especially the pilot who was manning the heli at the time. We all get into this sport for fun and enjoyment with friends and soon to be friends. Now Im sure he will be scarred for life....

WE STILL DONT GET THE POINT

It WILL happen again if we continue to stand in large groups on or just behind the flightline with or without camcorders and still digitals just waiting for something to go wrong on these highpowered helis. All it takes is a glitch or lockout or failed ball link or slipping flybar or paddle or even pilot error. Sooner or later your number is up and someone is going to be hit probably fatally by an errant heli. R/C Heli flight is extremely dangerous under these circumstances and pushing the 3d envelope only increases that same risk exponentially. Its like the parents who allow their tots to run ahead of them across the parking lot and busy driveways and then scream to the LORD when something happens. These are FORESEEABLE EVENTS gentlemen and as such they are our responsibility to avoid by recognizing the characteristics of dangerous preludes. For instance:

1. Drinking and driving don't mix therefore drinking and flying don't mix.
2. Smoking is not allowed at the gas station and shouldn't be allowed near the pits and fuels.
3. The flight line and buffers between flying and observers are for the protection of all and if not observed, soon someone will be taken out.
4. The flight line and buffers between flying and the pits are for the protection of all and if not observed, soon someone will be taken out.
5. The flight line and buffers between flying and the parking lot are for the protection of us all and our vehicles and if not observed, soon someone will be taken out
6. Beware of the guy who appears to be experienced and leads many to follow him as he takes dangerous liberties whilst smoking a cigarette over 30% nitro and drinking a beer and laughing, DWI/DUI is a serious offense that many USED to joke about getting away with. Until it happens to someone in YOUR family or circle of friends.
7. The flight line is ALWAYS important but even more so when an experienced full blown pilot stretches the mechanical limits of a high performance heli. That is NOT the time to relax the rules and regulations but rather to check and tighten them to reduce the chance of death and injury.

Simple as that.

I consider this forum an oportunity to have public service annoucements aired BEFORE someone is killed or mamed again by a heli. Remember the girl on national T.V. mamed terribly by a drunk driver? REMEMBER and avoid the same patterns with rc helis.
