I know the 130x has many reported tail issues. I am trying to figure out if my mixing board unit is bad or if the tail servo is bad on mine. It flew well for about 3 or 4 flights. I did have the vib everyone reports. Sometimes it was worse than other flights. Today I was flying and the tail kinda seemed like it blew out once really quick and the vibration was ofcourse there. Then in the middle of the flight, the heli went into an uncontrollable piro and a second or two later crashed. I picked it up, looked it over and everything seemed ok except for a dinged up blade. I spooled it back up but now the tail is not responding at all. I unplugged the lipo, tried a new one, and still it isnt working. The other servos seem to be working. With the motor completely off, the tail servo moves a small amount in one direction, but barely in the other. Once a small amount of throttle is added, there seems to be NO tail servo control at all and it wont even slightly move in either direction. Im going to call HH tomorrow but right now im just wondering if this is a servo problem or if the crash burnt something out on the actual board. Anyone have any ideas?

Check the gear on the back of the torque tube, it strips that gear real easy. It is a simple fix.

I went to check the gear on the back. It seems fine but looked like it was wobbling as it spun with the torque shaft. So I decided to just take the shaft out and look closer at how the gear is seated on it (both the front metal and back plastic bevel gears). Before I did this, I watched Horizon's video on replacing the gears and noticed in the video the guy had to use a little effort to pull the metal crown gear off the shaft (not much but there was some), and a good amount of pull to completely remove the torque shaft from the white bevel gear and out the tail assembly. On my torque shaft however, the front metal gear literally slides right off with no pressure at all and so does the white rear gear (although slightly more pressure compared to the front metal). Neither slip once fully on the shaft tho but should they slide off this easily? If I put the metal gear on the shaft and then hold the shaft vertically, the gear falls right off the shaft from its own weight. Its making the reassembly of the heli kinda difficult because the metal bevel gear keeps sliding off the shaft and slipping it back on is rather difficult with the main shaft installed. Should it be this loose?

Hey Raj.. What up Bro?

Remove the linkage off the Tail Pitch slider arm to remove any possibility of any binding..
Then move the tail servo via the transmitter..
See if it tries to move back and forth.

On this heli, all Gyro's are OFF until the motor starts up.

Thatís why, it you plug in the battery and the swash does not auto stabilize in your hand, it's because the Gyros are not active yet.

So, if you can get movement on the tail when the motor is off, then, Spool up the motor.. If you get nothing when the motor is on, your board gave out.

The problem is, that vibration is a killer.
Even if you spool past it, itís still there playing havoc on your tail and gyro.

I told you that your heli sounded like mine, in flight, when I just got the it. Once you spooled up past the low pitched vibration on the tail, your still have a high pitch vibration in the air. HH said to just spool past it.. That's not good advice to follow. That's why I worked so hard to get rid of those vibs at spoolup.

Here's a video
