I have a couple of questions on a helijive v.11/vbar 5.2 setup.
Is mode 8 the correct mode for the vbar governor?
Do I select the auto and idle settings in vbar, but use the helijive bailout feature?
I'm a nitro guy doing my first big electric, so thanks in advance for the assistance.

take care, dont step on the toes today that may be connected to the a?? you have to kiss tomorrow!!

Mode 8 is correct for vbar use.

That being said you can't use the bailout feature in the jive you need to use the bailout in the vbar.

And yes you have to enable both the auto and idle settings.

Mr Mel which is The vbar guru offers a video that is readily available on YouTube on the jive/vbar setup procedure...

Hehe, when it comes to performance, integrated governor systems are superior in almost everyway. The difference is load management, in which an integrated system is proactive. Not going to reiterate what has already been said on here. That being said, I'd recommend doing a little research.

A reactive governor will never be on the same level as a properly setup proactive one. The proactive gov can "see" the need before it becomes one so the adjustment is smaller and more efficient.
Look at it this way, an ESCs gov is trying to keep a HS which you select. If the target HS is 2100, the reactive gov does not make an adjustment until the HS drops or over speeds. So for example the HS drops to 2000, the gov has to raise the HS to 2200 to compensate for the load at that time in order to get a net HS of 2100. That is a 200 rpm increase. A proactive gov sees the input before the HS drops and increases the HS from 2100 to 2200. That is a 100 rpm increase. Less power needed to do the same job. That turns out to be more efficient which is always a good thing. I know the explanation was not the most technical but I hope it helps.....Ron
