I've completed the upgrade of my Futaba 8FG with outstanding results. Flights and setups are easy once you get the hang of it.
I bought a TREX 450 for Ss and Gs to test my multirole radio.
Gyro setup has me scratching my head though. My setup is for a single (rudder) gyro GY401. (New radio sofware also provides built in setups for the 3 axis GY750 which I disabled). I have the gyro set to SW (not condition) and I have designated a switch to select AVCS on AVCS off (or) Norm off Norm on.
As I read about my 401 gyro HH mode is when the red light is solid on and the unit must be initialized in this mode. Norm mode is light off.
The problem is, I get a solid red gyro light when AVCS is selected off on the radio and the gyro light turns off when AVCS is selected on.
To me it seems backwards.
I have to turn ACVS off on power up to get a solid light.
I run the gain in the 40% range, helo flies fine, solid tail. Solid red light and AVCS off the entire time. Am I off?
