that video was probably the last decent weather we have had to fly,
it has been awful,i managed to get 3 tanks on the fury tuesday evening at another field, but that has been it for the last 6-8 weeks.
I now carry my longranger in the car in case there is an hour or so of decent weather.
I miss the smell of JetA1...

Looks great Dave! Wind noise isn't bad at all, especially considering the gales you guys have. Hasn't been much better in Savannah. Two big tropical storms in last couple of weeks. Now we get the heat!

managed a tank on mine plus 2 on the fury,
was very gusty, but managable, no where near as windy as the Nats last year it will be good to see the zealous fly with its propper canopy on. I will bring my video camera.

Both Zealous LongRangers on the above thread. (In HD too!!)

Unfortunately, while I was spooling up, I hadn't noticed another flyer walk up and start flying on the next station beside me. I had it in my mind I had half the field to fly in, like Matt who had flown his just before me. It wasn't until I had taken off and started my upwind leg that I look beside me and saw the guy starting to spool up. From that point on flight was all towards the top end of the field.

I had to smartly 'modify' my flight plan!! (Hence the abrupt decent!) - such are the things that happen on a club field.

tried to call you today, i have flown with the new oil 3 weeks ago,
it is working fine, the one way is still loose after sitting for 2 weeks. so me thinks we have cured the sticky bearing syndrome.
Strange though it never affected the predator.

Schluter 17t ---------and -----Vario 22t....

Tail Gearbox gears, both shown as 'fully meshed' with the Schluter 20t gear. The probable cause of the failure.

Good news on the Wren bearings - I hope it stays fixed!

I have BOTH Zealous back in one piece now. I need to run the LR machine with Main blades to see how it goes now.

Lots of work here with Bearings/Main Drive/Tail Drive/Gearbox etc, but I think it's a flying chassis again.

Now to get started on that fuse!

In regards to the gears I have looked at my spare ones which are silver not black and they mesh fine. so you must of got an odd gear.

so what you have now is a Vario 22 tooth driving a vario 20 tooth.?

It was a bit of a squeeze, but yes - 22t (Vario) driving 20t (Schluter) gear in both tail gearboxes.

I'll show you the old ones and you'll see why I changed them.
