We are reorganizing the flight lines so there will be easier access to the flight line with your vehicles and tents. In other words, we are hoping to get all pilots in position on the flight line with their vehicles where possible. Of course it is first come first serve basis for Pilots. We are also working on a charity raffle in addition to our regular prize raffles. We will be announcing prizes, sponsors, etc. in the coming weeks. Our event has gained enough interest that We will be posting hotel details for out-of-town attendees and pilots.

I'll be posting hotel info for those coming from out of town soon. The closest hotel with decent accommodations is the Holiday Inn by the Braves Stadium. This is providing there isn't a home game for the playoffs.

Raffle Terms

It is important to note that you must be present to win any raffle items.

We have lots of nice items from Readyheli, Helidirect, and Synergy RC for the Pilot's Raffle. One of our members has donated Rotor Rage Fuel that will be available in the Pilot's Raffle. Each Pilot will get a Pilot's Raffle ticket when they pay their $10 registration fee.

The 50/50 Raffle and Alees Rush 750 Kit are public raffles and are separate from the Pilot's Raffle. We are in the process of determining a fair price for the Rush 750 raffle tickets. The 50/50 raffle proceeds will be split between the winner and The Atlanta Boys and Girls Club to benefit their RC Aeronuatics Program. Proceeds from the Rush 750 Kit (compliments of Readyheli) will also benefit The Atlanta B&G Club RC Aeronautics Program.

OK folks. This is really the only hotel I can recommend close to the field. It is the Holiday Inn near the Braves Stadium. If you want to stay at a different hotel, I recommend going further into downtown as there are no hotels near the field that I would consider staying at personally.

Registration

Registration starts at 8am. We had some trouble painting the flight lines and parking areas, so please follow the instruction of our staff when setting up or parking. The forecast looks good.

Great Event

I wanted to thank all the people at Atlanta RC for a great event. I arrived early and stayed late and the weather was great. I want to also thank all the sponsors in no specific order: Ready Heli, Synergy RC, Heli Direct and Nankin Hobby for the donations made for the pilot raffle. I would like to personally thank Ready Heli for the donation of the Heli Rush 750 kit Raffle.

There was some great flying put on by everyone in attendance and the Pro Pilots Matt Botos and CJ Cortez flights were just off the chain. It is just amazing to watch what some of these pilots can do with a Heli.

Once again if you missed this event this year hopefully you will be able to put it on your calendar for next year.
