Guys
I can use some help with my next servo purchase.
Looking at these below
JR DS8711 Digital Ultra-Torque Servo
JR DS8611A Ultra Torque
What does the A stand for anyway?

Do you have any feedback on these?
Or experience with either of these?
One better than the other?
Problems?
Or just comments.
Thanks Tony

I am going to go out on a limb here and say "A" stands for airplane.

Maybe that servo cant handle certain vibration levels.

The "A" in 8611A is just the V2 version of the servo. The 8711 has better specs and essentially replaces the 8611A. Both are very good servos.

The "A" is a revision which fixed a problem the servo had which I do not remember. It is a current servo but was replaced with the 8711 for more power. Both are very good servos. What you never see printed is the resolution. Futaba excluded because I am not informed on them. JR has better resolution that the other servo MFG Hitech,Savox (Align) I ran JR servos in my jets for the resolution and Hitech in my big birds for the vibration resistive nature.

Stay away from 8611 servos without the "A" they are only on the used market.

Avoid the 'default' settings in life Fat, Dumb and Poor!!!

Hey Butch
I am only using 6 volts.
Is the HV ok for lower power?

Yep.

Not sure what you are putting them in but I use them on my 76 with 2S and VR6010 regs to 6V that weights 42 lbs. I also use them on C-2 at 7.4V.
