Knox County Radio Control is proud to announce our Third Annual Helicopter Fun Fly on Saturday November 3rd and Sunday November 4th.

The Fun Fly is open to all R/C Helicopters.

Beginners and spectators are always welcome and are encouraged to attend. A separate training/hovering area will be available for those just learning to fly R/C helicopters.

Lunch time events on November 3rd will include an autorotation spot landing contest.

Sunday November 4th will be open flying for all current AMA members beginning at 9am EST!!! No landing fee!!! Bring your lunch and spend the day!!!

From Pellissippi Parkway (Hwy. 162)
Take the Hardin Valley Road exit off of Pellissippi Parkway/Highway 162 and drive west on Hardin Valley Road. After approx.
2.5 miles, turn right on Steele Road (just past Hardin Valley Elementary School). Drive approx. 1 mile and turn left
on Sam Lee Road.
Sam Lee Road turns into Couch Mill Road, and about 1 mile after you turn onto Sam Lee, Couch Mill Road turns sharply to
the left. Go straight at the turn. You're now on Williams Bend Road, and after about 2 miles, you'll see the entrance to
KCRC on your right (directly across from the water treatment plant on the left).

Getting to Pellissippi Parkway
From Oak Ridge, take Highway 62 through Solway and merge onto Pellissippi Parkway. From Knoxville, take I-40 West/I-
75 South and exit north onto Pellissippi Parkway towards Oak Ridge at exit 376.

Hey guys!!!

We are in the planning stages of the fun fly and I'm looking for some input. What lunch time events would you want to see/participate in? We want to keep it interesting for both the pilots and the spectators.

We had a fixed wing fun-fly timed event where you took off from a lined box on the runway, did 3 flips, landed in the box and then had to roll a 7 with a pair of dice. I think this one would work out well for more seasoned pilots but would limit the beginners like me that still can't flip.

We are open for any and all suggestions and your input would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry to report that a family situation developed that will prevent me from attending as I had planned. I hope you have great weather and even more participants than last year. I'll keep an eye out for your event next year.

Hey guys!!

We are about a month out. We have a couple of events planned. First is an autorotation spot landing contest and the other is a three flips and roll timed contest. Should be a LOT of fun for both the flyers and the spectators. Hobbytown USA is once again going to be a major sponsor so look for some great raffle/contest prizes. This is shaping up to be another great event. Late October/Early November is also great time to tour the Smoky Mountains. The leaves will be in their full fall splendor.

We are less than two weeks out!!!!

The raffle will include a new BNF Blade 130X, 30% heli fuel, tee shirts, hats and several other items. Raffle tickets are $1 each, 12 for $10 or 25 for $20.

We will also be doing some electric-only night flying on Saturday evening!!

Good news... I've just confirmed via my work schedule that I'll have the days off to attend the KCRC event! I've been told that there will be a few HeliCommand gurus in attendance as well, so hopefully I'll be able to get a few of my projects off the ground, finally...

1 Week to go!!!

Weather is looking great!!! Lows in the mid 40's and highs in the mid 60's with light winds with 10% chance of rain.

We have plenty of space for camping. I will be opening the field on Friday evening. Gate may be shut but it will not be locked.

Come on out and enjoy some great flying weather!!!

Weather is looking great for the weekend!!! We have power in the pits so bring an extension cord and you'll be set. No need for generators.

Because of hurricane Sandy and my joke of an excuse of a company that I work for I won't be attending KCRC this year afterall :-(

I want to send out a bit THANK YOU to everyone that attended this year. The weather was perfect and flying was spectacular!!! You guys are the best!!! I was able to see some old friends and make a few more. Can't ask for more than that.

We are already looking forward to next year and would like your feedback on the timing of the event. Spring, summer or fall? Which would work better for you?

The fun fly was definitely worth the trip down from Virginia, not knowing anyone was not a problem after 5 minutes there I look forward to coming down to the next event, Spring or Fall works or maybe both Thanks again for a great day and all the efforts put into it!!
