Is the gyro gain too low?

I am using AR7200BX and HS6965 tail, and my throttle curve is at 90% flat.

I need to set the gyro gain to 25% on my JRX9503 radio in order to get rid of the wag?

Do you think it is too low? If yes, how to rectify the problem?

Do you think it is too low?
Are you thinking it is in rate mode?

Not its not too low its only a number.

You tell us, is the tail holding?

A good test of gyro gain is to turn the heli 45 degrees after the gyro has initialised, if the tail doesn't reach full pitch the gain is too low, if you reach full tail pitch before 45 degrees the gain is too high.

60% of the time, it works every time!

Not shure what you mean?

Do you mean move the nose of the heli 45 degrees on the ground and watch the pitch change on the tail to see if it moves to full pitch ?

that is 50% gain.
25% or 75% gyro gain on the gyro menu is equivalent to setting a 50% end point.
50% is essentially no gain. 0% and 100% are the opposite end points.
So at 25% on gyro menu you are at equivalent to 50% gain

This is why I don't use the gyro menu! I use the Gear channel instead and just use the gear channel travel adjust to adjust the gain.

the lights on the ar7200 tell you how much gain you have in that mode. a a= 0% gain m= 100%. go to your gain channel and adjust the gain you will see the light moving up and down the bx.

Jim,

In a Futaba radio, is - rate mode and + heading hold?
On Futaba gyro menu, you have a few options depending on mode selected. In GY mode, you can select 0-100% AVCS mode (HH) and 0-100% NORM mode (rate). Other gyro modes act similar to what you see here.

On JR 50% is center (1500 usec). 50-0 and 50-100 are the opposite sides, and depending on what gyro you are connected to, will either select rate or HH.

The new DX7s gyro menu has - as rate and + as HH. I used to own the DX6i, and 0-49 was rate and 50 -100 was HH.
