Anyone know how to order this new gear Jan made for the more powerful motors? I'd hate to bug the man with an email if someone less pressed for time has the answer. Just thought I'd ask around in case it's already out and in circulation with owners.

I dont think he ever got around to making them, i think some people got their own made.

In all honesty is not needed i never strip a main gear with my 4535LE and in all honestly there are other issues eg frame flex and bearings before i worry about it not holding the 10KW motor

Sent Jan a short email last week about it. I'll post so everybody can see what he said.

Rumors tell of a new black main gear for the more powerful motors now available to TDR owners. I have an Xera 4530 motor and am about to make an order for parts. If this new stronger gear is available I couldn't find it in the store.

His Answer:

We are testing new materials at the moment but it will take some time until we have final results so that I can produce some of this gears for the customers.

if u guys want black gears you can do it your self ..use black rit dye...works great ill try and upload pics..it doesnt hurt the gears any..i even did my trex gears as well

LMAO...the black color is nice side effect, but the heavy duty poly to prevent stripping is what were looking for

I really would like to know. What stripping problems? I have a Xera 4530LE in my TDR. I fly it hard and never baby mine. I run 1850 or higher RPM all the time. I don't like low head speed personally.

My TDR has been bulletproof with 100% stock machine. What problems are you guys having? The stock main gear is plenty strong. If you are stripping gears you have the mesh wrong. TDR can take the watts.

There are no stripping problems, people just want it cause they can and it gives us something to talk about LOL

It's not like we have a million options to choose from in personalizing a TDR right.

for me the color was the goal...if you guys are having mesh issues use some paper and run the gears and set them that way...paper threw main gera and pinion..gera meshthen is perferct..

motor i have ran with no issues. actuallyu never stripped a gear ever

I got an email back from Jan the other day confirming that he now has a new stronger gear. Just thought I should say it in this thread for everyone.

Yes I have got some of this gears ready now. Main advantage of this material is the higher temperature stability and less expansion so that you not have to adjust such a big tooth play as
with the standard material.
