You should go to the AMA Forum over at R C Universe. There is a huge debate about the "legality" of those flights.

It was a viral video stunt to promote the movie "Chronicle". It's possible they had any permits needed.

Didn't we go through this last year with the FPV foamie flight around the Brooklyn Bridge causing an FAA uproar?

While I think this is cool, I just hope it doesn't cause us any more problems with the govt wanting to shut down RC.

Yes. They were using 2.4 modules. You keep the 72Mhz antenna down when you do this. I have the same setup on the Futaba 10C so I can run FM/PCM and 2.4. I'm going to order the plans. I have an artist friend that could have some fun with this.

That was badass. I knew about rcsuperheros.com but never really looked at any videos. We had talked about building some rc superheros last summer at the field. Chronicle is supposed to be a cool movie from what I understand, much better than the trailers make it look.

I do not think of it as real cool , I think of it as a heads up for Home Land security to take a look at our hobby as a problem area . We do not need to find focus to our hobbby in that way. There was already some video of someone flying a model airplane in NYC close to the high riser buildings , not good .
