Just got an e-mail from McMaster saying they will no longer sell to me because I'm international. This comes after having ordered from them many time previously. My orders would be shipped to Florida where my courier then forwarded them to me here.
I replied to the e-mail asking if there was any way I could establish a credit with them because we do not have a McMaster source in the Bahamas. I was told there was no chance.
We own our own business here and use many US wholesale and retail suppliers.
Rather disappointing for such a fine supplier!

By way of consolation, at least you live in the Bahamas this time of year.

Although you personally may be an ideal customer in every way there are certainly other circumstances and experiences that have driven such a fine supplier to this decision. Unfortunately regulations, hurdles, red tape, and poor behaviors of others force companies to make such decisions. It feels personal, but is a collective chain of events.

Perhaps you can establish a reshipper in the US for you. Cost more for re-shipment, but possibly a solution.

Just set up a mail stop service somewhere. Most any place that rents PO boxes that's not associated with the post office will do it. It is easy and can be done over the phone. Down side is added cost and shipping time.

Many businesses use these services to make it look like they have "up scale" addresses like Beverly Hills, CA or 5th Avenue, New York.

if they sell to you and you sell to a country that is on the terrorism list you wont be sued, they will be.

Does anyone know where I can purchase G10/FR4 sheets? I have searched and searched but nowhere with G10 in colours. I would have thought that this would be so widely used...you'd be able to find it pretty easily!

Try www.americanepoxy.com. I am not sure if they will ship to you in the Bahamas but it is worth a try. They have black and natural, but might be able to get other colors.

I'm not sure if it will help with this company but your setup seems similar to mine.
I'm in Costa Rica and use a private courier service in Florida to bring things down here.
The only thing I didn't see in your post is what type of CC you use.
I opened a checking account in the CONUS and keep there my "RC money" and use that debit card to do my shopping with a physical address in FL (the one of the courier) and so far had worked with pretty much every company I dealt with.
