3D TV's

I'm in the market for a new TV. I currently have a Zenith 56" DLP 720P HDTV. I'm looking at getting a 46" or a 55" LED TV. I wasn't that interested in 3D when I started looking but now I'm becoming more interested. It seems that content is still lacking and TV's with 3D without the glasses are around the corner.

What do you guys think about 3D TV's? Would you get one?

I'm currently considering either a Samsung 55" 3D LED TV or an LG 55" 3d LED TV. I may just save my money and get a non 3D TV and invest in a blu-ray player since I don't have one yet.

I'm learning a bit more after reading. I'm now leaning towards a plasma TV because of the uneven lighting issues with LED's. My father has a 40" Samsung LED tv an it has uneven lighting issues, however, the image still is outstanding!

I have an Edge Lit LED and do not notice any uneven lighting with mine but it is only a 42" so maybe it is more noticeable on bigger tv's

LG

I have a LG 47" 3D set. Looks great. Picture is perfect and the 3D works better than I thought it would. LG uses passive 3D glasses so the glasses are only around $10.00 a pair and don't strain your eyes.

I just bought an LG 55LW6500. Absolutely amazing! And the price from Newegg was just as amazing. 2D and 3D are spectacular.

There, their and they're. It's really that simple.

I bought the Samsung 46" 3D LED TV before Christmas from Best Buy. Got the free sound bar and two pair of 3 D glasses.

WOW! If I had known how great this was, I would have bought the 55" instead.

Tried the 3 D Pirates of Caribbean and it was excellent.

Sound bar with the wireless rear speaker is super.

I can't compare mine with any other models because I only know mine.

Best if luck.

I have the Samsung 3D 51" (PN51D6500) and I love it. I've had it about a year now and I'm starting to dabble in making my own 3D movies from my camcorder, I'm not real good at it yet, but give me time and I'll get it figured out (some of those programs can be hard to figure out).

P.S
If you do get one and you want extra glasses get them off Ebay, you can get them for 1/4 of the price, just make sure you get the right glasses for your TV, not all glasses work will all TV's.

now and I'm stating to dabble in making my own 3D movies from my camcorder,
or you could get a 3d cell phone. this one was taken on LG optimus 3d.
you need to play around with the 3D setting on YT to get it working.

you need to view this on YT to get the 3D settings.

I suppose if someone wanted to get real serous they could get the new Sony HDR-TC10 camcorder and make their own 3D movies instead of trying to convert them into 3D.
Right now that new technology is a little to pricey for me, maybe down the road when the price drops I might have one.

I've been using my fathers Samsung 40" 3D LED TV for a few days now. I watched a re-run of the giants/pats regular season game and several of the faster paced action shots were choppy, even though his TV is 240Hz. I also don't like how his TV has flashlighting problems from the corners. Other than those two issues, it's a fantastic TV.

The only motivations I can see for buying a new LED LCD over a plasma is to get a thin TV with good energy efficiency - neither of which I am terribly concerned about.

I've done a good bit of reading since my intitial post and I'm leaning towards this TV:

I probably won't get into the 3D for a while but I want one that's capable for when I decide to do it.
