Hi All

This is my first posingt here, I started flying about 6 months ago and now have a T-Rex 600, I'm thinking it's time for a 90 size chopper, but not real sure what to do. I been looking at the Rave machine and now this new Whiplash, what do yo guys who been flying this machine tink, maybe a o.S 105 or 120 ys or 91 hr?

Well, the Rave has been out for sometime so that one would be easier to get reviews on. The Whiplash on the other hand has only been flown by team pilots and reps. I got the Whip on order and I'm getting a 105 HZR for it. I didn't go YS since realistically how much power does one need?

Thanks for the reply. I have seen quite a few Raves at the field and I like the look and how it's put together. I'll have to get on this site more often. I'll have to decide on the engine.

+1 for the MA Whiplash. I'm sure the nitro version will be as high quality as the 90e. You won't be dissapointed!

I would suggest the Whiplash because of its simplicity.

I have really come to appreciate direct to swash servo linkages. I now have three machines that are set up that way, T550E, Fury 55 FBL, and eWhiplash. I didn't buy those machines because of that structure but the advantages of that structure are such that I am spoiled and would be reluctant to buy anything not so configured.

Setup is easier and crash repair is much easier with direct linkages especially if you are running FBL.

I also like the simplicity of the drive system on the Whiplash. With the sprag on the motor it simplifies the tail drive structure. Again less parts easier repair.

Both the Rave and Whiplash will fly great but the simplicity of the Whiplash for maintenance and repair attracted me.

Can't speak on the Whip. I have been flying the ENV Nitro for a year now without any issues. Love the machine. If you go that route you won't be disappointed. It flies great and is a breeze to work on.

I'd suggest the Whiplash as well....... if you can get your hands on them. I have given up waiting and re-installed Align 700N.

I have been flying the Rave for over a year and I really love it. Great design and it flies even better. I fly the electric, with a Scorpion 4525-520, and it's definately not short on power!

Bit too late but when im choosing between 2 helis which are both very nice I always go with the manufacturer who has the most experience in designing helis.

I think the 105 will be a great choice.

One question, I'll be getting the flybarless version, what flybarless unit is recomended?

Either the Total G or the Beast X. I have and like both, but not sure which one I like better.

TotalG are rubbish.. I had one and it never worked well. I was sent a couple of firmware updates but the unit was very unstable. The unit would loose settings and the servos would randomly flutter and lock into a fix position.. Spent a good 1 mth trying to get it to work properly before i sold it..

Get either a CGY750 or Vbar pro..
