Align 3G
using 3Gx gov with Futaba 8fg

I am attempting to set up the gov in the 3Gx with a Futaba 8FG Super.

The 3Gx softwares says use the chart on the right, but..... The little calculator does not work. I put in a gear ratio and it show the head speed of 1035 and the associate engine rpm. I can not change either number?

Since the gov function is on channel seven, I attempted to use the gov function in the Futaba. The instructions state the the 3Gx governor is on channel seven. So I input percentages. Percentages above 50 turn the governor off, light goes red.

How do you set the friggin head speed on this thing?

This instructions are lacking.

I the 3Gx govern instructions are week. I'd like to work with the Idl switch, but...

Or, how can I pull Channel Seven out of the 3Gx to use on Futaba 3 channel S-bus?

Anyone?

if you havent updated to v1.2 then the chart will not work. You need to mix the channel to itself and change the % for HS

Yes, I have version 1.2.

Mix the channel to itself? I'm not sure that I follow.

I'm about researched out. I feel like I'm trying to figure this out without instructions. I'm trying to use the gov function in the 8fg as it is tied to channel 7, but anything above 50% and the gov light turns red?

Where do I get the %'s for head speeds?

Also, are the % cumulative?

I have looked all over for an RCE-6600 manual without any luck. The pdf file on aligns web site doesn't come up?

Ok, that ^^^ is cruel even by my own standards.

8FG Slaving a channel to itself:

Normally you can command a range between 890 Ásec to 2350 Ásec with ~1500 center. In your case, values above (or below) 50% turn the gov off. You can modify the TX out put of that channel to work full resolution on half of the working range, meaning full stick movement will yield the output from 890 to 1500 or 1500 to 2350 as the working range.

Set you master and set the top number to + or -100 (whichever you need) and then set the X axis offset to +100

ok im not sure with futaba but on my tx(dx7) i had gov on aux1. I would then mix aux1>aux1 tie it to the flight mode switch then it allows you set the % so like 90% = 2150HS.

Here is the mix setup for the 8FG to keep the channel output completely above or below the 1500usec

Go to the PMIX menu, select any unused mix (I used 5)

pic show channel already changed

On the selected PMIX go to its 2nd page
go to master and select GOV
and then slave abd again select GOV

The mix will be on all the time

Back to page one and take the 1st value and make it +100
and the X value to +100. Notice all the output shifted to one side.

Now go to the Governor menu and set some % values for NORMAL, IDLEUP1 and IDLEUP2, (I chose 40, 60 and 85 arbitrarily)

notice that for each value the output on ch7 stays above the 50%

That's it

Thanks

I more than appreciate the time and effort that you put into that for me.

I was going nuts.

In addition to what you showed me, I had to reverse the servo to get the values on the positive side. Now the light stays green. And I can input percentages.

Again thanks

Yeah, I forgot to mentioned that since Futaba uses the servo range backwards you might have to reverse the channel.

Glad I could help
