devious,

Sorry to hear your not waiting. Team just got the nitros last week and testing has been completed.

Stores should have them in a week or so.

Maybe next season for ya!

I hope to have my gasser before next season.... its february now, looking to gear up by March at least.

There really isn't any reason you shouldn't have it in March if all goes well.

Obviously MA is trying to get helicopters in peoples hands, since this is of course what we do.

All in a days work!

It's tough when you want something now and have to wait a bit. IMHO, it's more of a satisfying when it finally does arrive and there are no bugs left to be worked and out everything just fits and works perfectly.

That's just me.

That's so very true Mike. Don't forget to include the manual. If it was rushed out and was totally screwed up people would complain about that also. I'm curious why MA didn't include the metal slider arms for the tail like the Fury, stratus or now offering it as an upgrade on the 55?

Ok,question. What is the best way to oil the sprag bearing on the whip? On my stratus all I did was remove the main gear, oil it, then reinstalled it.

Just oil it from the top. No need to take anything apart.

Oh, ok. That's easy enough. What keeps it from fouling your clutch liner though?

Mike,
I'm having a custom RC engine built for this whiplash, it has a reed valve conversion for more power, but the carb gets rotated 90 degrees.. do you think this will be an issue with the throttle linkage? also can you advise as to what is the recommended flight pack for this airframe.. I run fromeco lith-ion but not sure of the dimensions I have to work with.. If you could please give me a rough dimension of the pack I am looking for...Also has anyone gotten a final weight on the gasser version? Thank you so much... I guess with spring type weather instead of cold frozen tundra... I am getting the spring flying fever early... anxious thats all.. I can't wait to try out this new whiplash, very excited... And TRYING to wait patiently. Thanks again for all the info...........

As far as your engine, I can't say if the carb would work with the linkage as I'm just not sure or familiar with it's setup.

As for your flight pack, I run typical 2200mah LiPo and 2650mah LiPo. Both are pretty much the same size and fit perfectly on the front tray.

Nobody has the gasser version yet but I will try and get you a rough estimate later today. Lat I heard it was right around 13bls if I remember correctly.

Perhaps Carey Shurley can chime in with the info as he's our gas expert.

the "battery tray" is about 2" wide x 7" long. you should be able to fit a lipo, life, lion, nicad or nimh without any problem and still fit the Rx and FBL controller there as well

If you're not flying a gasoline helicopter
You're paying 10 times too much for fuel!!

How many 10 min flights are you guys getting with 2650 mah?

I don't get 10 minute flights, on the E they are 4 min. and on the nitro about 6 since I don't fill the tank all the way.

On a 2650 I will do 4 flights.

You will make fun, but I have been running a 7200 Li-ion in the spectra.... can go all weekend. But for the whiplash I am thinking a 5200 @ 6.6 oz. Would be the way to go. Planning on going with futaba hv servos unregulated. Any thoughts?

don't forget to step down the throttle servo voltage unless you're using an HV servo there. Futaba now makes a small step down regulator
