Problems running Realflight 6 with new iMac

Hello,

I just bought a new iMac desktop with latest Intel quad processor and upgraded AMD graphics. I installed Fusion4 and Windows 7. Expecting awesome graphics, I cannot get the Realflight to run, it just says, "your video card is not able to render 3D images".

I have read others had great success with Macbook pros, I believe they are using the same Intel quad chipset and AMD graphics.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

Thanks,

Brian Rasmussen

You will be better off running win 7 under bootcamp.

Do you think that my issue is with Fusion4 completely?

It's possible. I have good luck with both bootcamp and parallels.

I had the same problem-used parallels and bootcamp-turned out I needed to install drivers for 'windows'-one for video and another for sound. Not sure about fusion-but sounds like your having the same problem. I did a search online, picked a driver and finally got lucky-worked great. I did find out that for bootcamp, the correct drivers came on the system disk. Hope this helps.

I could never get a virtual windows software environment to run realflight because the video resources cannot be fully accessed by fusion, etc.

Bootcamp resolved this quickly. However, windows 7 is required for the new Lion OS. I am currently using Snow Leopard and windows XP via bootcamp but cannot upgrade to Lion without a legit windows 7 package. XP is not supported in Lion.

Soo.... I am trying to locate a great deal on windows 7 just so I can use bootcamp with Lion.

I have Lion on one drive, XP on another, and Snow Leopard on another. You can go to the Apple website and download the 64 bit bootcamp drivers.

Justin, can you share more details and clarity? Very interesting. BTW, I am using a MacBook pro with only one drive with two partitions.

I use Bootcamp with Windows 7 and it works perfect. I also use Fusion because I have to have Windows for some work related things. I have tried running Phoenix with Fusion but it doesn't work well at all.

Go Bootcamp and you'll have no issues. Really not a big deal to boot and reboot. The Mac is fast so it's not like the old windows days.

Razz just seen your post it's a bummer but I bought fusion 4 I am sorry to say it doesn't work I spent two days with this software and wasted yonks on it now the good news if you go to parelles 7 website they give you an option to trade fusion 4 in and get there product cheaper if you give them original code of fusion 4 am sure I've read this you can also download parelles 7 desktop for 14 days free so you can evaluate it yourself I don't know if this might stop the option of a trade in or just email them anyhow hope this helps you

So did you have to go to Fusion 4 with Lion? And are you saying that Fusion 4 will not work for anything or just running the sim? If it doesn't work with the sim then that is what most are finding. You have to use Bootcamp and boot to Windows to run Phoenix or RF.

Not difficult at all, just download the Bootcamp instructions and follow them.
