I don't run a kill switch - some thing else to go wrong - excess spaghetti - or diagnose with further fit's and start's. But Do use the throttle Kill parameter's on the radio.

A momentary toggle: I whoomped them plenty of time's and never needed it. If it hit's the dirt I figure it's plenty dead. I just trust my rigging. I'm also not saying it isn't a adequate idea -but if problem starts -- diagnosing can UGLY /UGLY with a helping layer of frustration.

I was really hoping to explain how I grew up writing on a shovel with a lump of coal and my certificate of achievement for making toast. Be-side's I take a lot pleasure in not letting nor boasting what every body else want's to know. I do take a lot of boastful pride playing my air guitar & have mean rift. With a fresh package of Oreo's and a Liter of Mountain Dew I have a GREAT SABER DANCE !

Now you hurt my feeler's

Thanx A - gin

a Resume...

/
/

Fact...

1.- Throttle servo failed on gasser once and a while and MURPHY said you removed the spring.
2.- Gasser in trouble may got on fire.
3.- Ignition system are independent of battery voltage source.
4.- Stator gator can be shortcircuit without problem.

Cons...

1.- A "dummy" pilot can flip the kill switch killing the beast, I mean, the gasser...ok.
2.- Another point for failure.

Running a kill switch by asigning a switch to flip on-off on your transmitter is not difficult.

killer RC Super Bee Kill Switch

I just got one of the new kill switchs and it uses an electronic relay not a normal relay as earlier versions
Hooked it all up and set failsafe to kill eng via relay and throttle trim
I have it on aux 2 with a y harness on a 7100r and 9303 radio
Decided i dont really need 2 gyro settings and used that to kill eng
Also will kill if transmitter signal is lost, loss of voltage, glitch, and Kent is coming out with a temp sensor that will kill also
Also i mounted it with a zip tie to fuel lines so it shouldnt see any vibration at all
I really like it and think its worth the thought knowing i have a way to kill if needed
Will see how it goes

Hi,

For those interested, I have been using the new Super Bee kill switch on my AP bird for a couple of months now. Works great.

Their new switch is Super expensive compared to the older version. Too bad was a nice unit.

It's actually cheaper. The Killer Bee kit was $65. The Super Bee kit is $59.99, Plus it has many more functions than the Killer Bee. Plus there are various 5% discount coupon codes if you join the Killer RC forum. We only sell the Super Bee as a kit with the cable and filter because some people would try to jerry rig up their own homemade wiring, and it would cause problems that was not the fault of the kill switch. It was their wiring. So that's why its only available as a kit.
It's a small investment, considering its going on a $2k+ Heli with $500 radios, etc, etc.

RCExl switch is for EI engines and there are plenty of options available(I use power box products for that). For RC type heli engines (magneto ignition), I did some research and the super bee is pretty much the only option available.

The Killer Bee was $38.00. Features I don't care about only kill switch. Price point was a key feature.

The Super Bee has many useful new features that make it much more flexible and user friendly. Read this comparison. http://www.killerrc.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=571

If you can buy at least 4 units, I'll go ahead and send you a new Super Bee without the wiring for $38 each. Email me. info@killerrc.com
