My Posts This: Topic  Forum		I am building the Sceadu 50 and was wondering why people seem to have the opinion that the sceadu 30 is a "dog" in terms of performance? Obviously the Sceadu is a "rocket" with the 50 in it, but I noticed while building it how light this machine is. The plastic frames seem thinner than say a raptor 30 and I would be very surprized if the Sceadu 30 is any heavier than a Raptor 30. It definately has a much longer tail boom, but the fuselage is about the same size. Since the boom weighs next to nothing it is not an issue. No one seems to call the Raptor 30 a "dog", so why does the Skiddy 30 get such a bad rap?
Does the longer "tail moment" (not sure if this is correct terminology for helicopters) have anything to do with it?

I fly a Sceadu 30 and I've never refered it to being a dog. I also owned a Raptor 30 and while it is a nice flying heli I think the Sceadu is a much
stronger and better flying heli.Some people might say it should be a 50
class heli only, I think thats why they might refer to it as doggy with a 30 size engine in it.And I think the Sceadu is a larger heli than the Raptor
and has a much longer boom.But I would pick the Sceadu over the Raptor any day but thats just my opinion. Jerry

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		I have not flown a Sceadu 30 before, but I've flown a Raptor 30 last weekend and it was a "dog" compared to my Sceadu 50. I haven't flown a 30 machine since last November but it sure felt slow. Note that the Raptor 30 was probably low on the headspeed (beginner heli) so it didn't have the pitch and cyclic authority I've gotten used to with the Sceadu 50.
I for one would not recommend a 30 any more with the current 50s on the market.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		I had both and doing a side by side comparision. I found my self wishing the 30 size had a tad bit more power. I think if a 40 size engine where made for Heli's the Sceadu would really shine.

I love my 50 size but I can see for a beginner that it has lots more power than they need.

My Posts This: Topic  Forum		I just got back today from flying my Sceadu 46 and boy did I have fun. It was even windier that i would have liked but it made no matter to the heli. I even got some applause at the end of a flight. I have a OS46 in mine and the ship is a rocket. Headspeed is unreal. I can't even imagine what it would be like with the OS50 I was doing continous flips, nose down funnels, 540's, backward flips, high speed figure eights and some plain old stick banging. I can't imagine this machine being a dog with an OS32. The 32 is a great running engine and has plenty of power. So if someone is telling you a Sceadu 30 is a dog then they know not of which they speak.
