| nhas924 Heliman | I read somewhere that the Chaos 600e's frame is the same width as the Trex 600n. I'm wondering if the Chaos's motor mount will fit in the Trex 600n's frame w/o spacing modification.

| nhas924 Heliman | Hey guys, I never followed up on this post but I did do the conversion. The chaos line of helicopters uses frames same width as the 600n to allow a scorpion motor w/o mod to the frame. No spacers were needed using their motor mount. https://www.scaleflying.com/Motor-Mount-_p_1681.html. I too am using 8s,Scorpion 4025-890. I used 2 holes already there for the front mounting holes then drilled the other 2. Get some extra frame mounting bolts, https://www.scaleflying.com/Motor-Mount-_p_1681.html, to strengthen the frame around where the engine was. Make sure you get the 54mm ones. I had to move the rear mounting bolt/ boom supports up to make room for the rear battery. I also made a battery mount for the battery out of some light modeling plywood I had hanging around from my plank days. I found some nylon stand-offs @ the hardware store I cut down to 9/16" to clear the frame mounting blocks , drilled 4 holes thru the plywood and bottom plate, stuck on the hook n loop, done. The front battery is secured to the receiver mount with the bec and esc. She's ever-so-slightly nose heavy. With the clutch block removed you can easily set the gear mesh. I'm using 2 4s nano tech 4.5"s in series. Gives me 8 min of scale-type flying. | ||

| Heli143 Key Veteran | clean conversion.I bought a Chaos 600 nitro to convert to electric but I am going to use the clutch system on it.It will go inside a 700 size Marvelcraft Bell 407 fuselage once done. Fuse is at Northwest Scaleworks for a new scale landing gear right now. Can't wait to get started on it! ![]() Roy Mayoral | ||

| RaptorRob Senior Heliman | Yes for one reason i wanted to use the same batts as my 500 and now that i built the conversion and just test flew it i only get 3min 30 sec of hard flying (2600mah) everything comes down cool to the touch... it is amazingI enjoyed building this and i probably wont keep it forever but it is fun to fly and all the power it has i only like to fly it for that long its plenty for me .... its not for everyoneno babe i swear i sold my other heli to buy this one :) | ||

| spoolemup Senior Heliman | 600N to 600E conversion I think there were 2 reasons for doing this.1) I already had the 600N which was an OK machine if you did not have any problems with the engine. (Which I have had too many) 2) I liked the way my stock 600E flew and wondered how much better would it fly on 8S and, without touching my stock 600E.SO, without spending extra money on another helicopter, and my Nito bird just sitting there, I figured, why not give it a shot. So glad I did.. The raw power that my conversion now has, made my same 600N, look like a Radio Shack toy. | ||

| RaptorRob Senior Heliman | took a couple more flights on the 12s it is a beast!! and a plus i made a mistake on my initial flight times ... im new to electric so dont think this is silly , i charge in parallel and i thought i was putting in 1800 - 2000 mah into each battery but that is divided into the two so i have around 6 min of throwing it around and around 5 min of pushing it hard, and all on 2650mah 40c'sno babe i swear i sold my other heli to buy this one :) | ||

| Heli143 Key Veteran | Raptorbob, glad to hear it turned out as you wanted with 12S.I fly my two raptor conversion on 6S. The MD500 with five bladed head flies fine with the 6S but the second conversion with two blade head is lacking in power. It flies around smooth and fast but in a hover it is around 3/4 to full stick.I think it has to do with the Kv of the motors. Turns out the MD500 has a 565Kv motor while the other raptor has an unknown Kv motor. I believe it is an 800Kv motor so I ordered two 4S batts and will go to 8S. I think that will fix the problem. I guess I will find out soon enough ![]() Roy Mayoral | ||
