They are just hitting Tower now. Probably not too many out and about now. But Futaba seems to have servos down cold so I suspect they will work as advertised.

Yup they should be quite good but the price makes you cringe.

Notice also that while other servo makers are publishing ridiculous specs, Futaba continues to rate there servo's modestly. Choosing honesty over unethical marketing.

What speeds do the Torque servos offer these days, .01 speeds and 500 in/oz of torque.

Futaba figured out how to make servos in 1982 and has only improved them ever since. Other companies haven't figured it out yet.

Actually, Im very pleased with the Outrage "Torq" servos. Might be another option than Futaba/JR to look at...

Not to mention they're HV, BLS motors, and helical gears. I think only the first two gears are, but makes for a really nice servo I think.

That is what i have been doing. I am pretty impressed with the 9088 Outrage tail servo. I have two of them now and ran one in my 700N all of last year. I have had every Futaba tail servo and think they are great, but you can not run them on high voltage and i hate the step downs. The new HV tail servo from futaba will be great as they make grat servos. But i am starting to look at the new Outrage 9180 cyclic servos. They have the torque and the speed and they are under $140.

I am running LiFe packs now, but thinking of going with Volts LiPo packs as they are $15 bucks. That is half the price of a LiFe pack.

I got the 255s and a 256hv for next heli build. As past I'm sure they'll work out great. Futaba servos IMO are top shelf.

I unknow the specs of the 3051HV but I think it does replace the old 3050 that I still have on my first trainer. I got 8 from Tower some years ago for $35 or so...

I dont buy Futaba servos since a long time ago, there are many out there for a fraction of price and do the job very good.
I have had some crashes and some Futaba servos died and other like Hyperion are still working with no issues. If you have a very RELIABLE servo for $50 why should you get a Futaba/JR for only $200..

I have never once looked back in any dissapointment in buying any Futaba servos, model or price they have always been a top notch servo. Knockin' on some wood but I've never dealt with a crash or instance which was bad in any way with Futaba equipment in general, therefore for me they have been worth every penny and then some.
