if you've never set up a machine before,
you should really really really consider
finding someone in your area who
has experience and can show you the
ropes and doublecheck your kit
construction.

Where in MA are you located?

You set the helicopter and radio together. To get more collective travel(pitch) you need to increase the throw on the servo. If the throw is maxed out then you need move the pushrod out farther on the servo arm.
z11355 is right get help if possible. Your helicopter will be setup correctly and you will learn a lot.

First -- you set the mechanical geometries of all the links and levers, then you adjust the radio to get the pitch/throttle curve you want.

Great post on this forum for the mechanical setup process:

then scroll down till you see a posting by MrDHEJ that starts out "YAPJY...."

I followed this procedure last evening on my new Freya. Works like a charm.

I ended up moving the ball links on the washout arms as well as the upper pitch link levers -- but I got something on the order of +/- 14 degrees, more than I needed. Dialed the rest in using the pitch and throttle curve settings on my JR 8103 TX.
