Before You break the Swashplate ball for Elevator

I haven't broken my swash ball yet, but plenty people have been and swashplates are backordered into April apparently! I didn't want to be grounded for that long so I did a little mod so the swash balls would have a better chance if it hit hard. The elevator ball to servo arm is a straight shot, so there is no give in a hard dump. So I redesigned the arm with a built in loop for the "give factor". You need some .020 or .021 wire and some small pliers and careful soldering to do this. I actually used a laser welder to do this, but a soldering job is all you need . Pictures are self explanatory. Just make sure you measure the stock link and make the new link the same, or your heli wont have the same pitch range. Lastly, don't solder with the ball link attached, probably wont appreciate the heat. Hope this helps!

Thanks fo the tip... I will be getting a Blade mCP X within the next week and a half and I can't wait, despite the problems some have. I know I loved my mSR so this thing is really going to be fun!

I broke a ball on the swash as well. I just used the other 2. I will be getting an extra swash to have on hand. The ball I broke goes to the blades. This is really a tough little heli that is a blast to fly. Chuck

Now you tell me!!!
I had been just hovering around in my basement and finally today the weather was good enough for a little outdoor flight to get a feel for flips and inverted on this thing. Not 30 seconds into the first battery, I zigged while inverted when I should have zagged! It hit the side of my house and snapped the elevator ball off. All Done!
LHS has one in stock fortunately. I'll try to run up after work tomorrow to get it.
I may try a little CA first though to get me through the rest of the evening.

Not sure about the accuracy of the timing of early April for new parts. My LHS was out a week ago Saturday. I just got the call today (9 days later) to pick it up. Of course, I had already found one at another LHS, but I'm sure with my crashing skills, I'll use it...

My swash ball broke too, but it was on the bench. I was adjusting the links then SNAP! Now i'm done for who knows how long.
