Hausler 450 se v2 by Cermark (Trex 450 clone)

Has anybody flown one of these heli's yet? I purchased one and have only beeen able to hover it indoors due to the cold PA weather. So far I really like this litle heli. It has all of the bling and comes with everything to get it up in the air fast. The radio is pretty basic with no frills! The good thing is that it hovers really well out of the box (no problems yet ). Has anybody flown one? If so how does it do with sport flying and some mild 3d moves? I plan on using it more for sport flying. Any flying impressions anybody has of this heli would be appreciated.

Well I had a chance to get the heli outdoors yesterday. Not a bad heli for the money! It hovers pretty steady. There was a slight twitch in the tail that could be atributed to 15-20mph wind gust. The heli flew well for the conditions I flew in. I didn't have the guts to ring her out due to the wind gust that came out of nowhere! This heli seems like it will be good for sport flying and some mild 3D! It will need some work to get it up to an all out 3D terror. Then again, if want the best out of the box 450 size bird, get the Trex pro! Thats if you want to spend that much money.

i have two weeks on mine,it flies pretty good, all the trex parts bolt right on.the biggest issue i see was some slop in the flybar carrier.i took it apart and reworked it alittle.for 60.00 you cant go wrong.

Flew again today. It was windy and I still decided to at least hover her around at my friends house. The heli flew nice even whith the the windy weather ( made it back in one piece ). This is a great heli for the money! I actually like it better than my Blade 400 (except for the transmitter). If (when) I finally go down, I'll upgrade to the Align parts and change TX.

the supplied transmitter is fine for getting going, but it will be a whole new bird when you upgrade - i fly mine with a dx 7. also the supplied fiberglass blades are fine, but carbon will also improve performance. i have a lot of fun with mine.

I agree Stryker! Not bad for the money @ Koppter, I just purchased some carbon blades. Can't wait to try them out! I have almost 20 flights on the Hausler and she has held up fine so far.

Im new and have a T-rex 450se V2. I've noticed a H U G E improvement with carbon blades, or even the "carbon" blades. Anything with less flex is going to yield more response. At least in my humble experience thats what I've noticed. The helicopter becomes more efficient as well as snappy responsive. MY problem is that as much as I like them Im too new to fly them as I can see myself going thru some blades and Id prefer they be cheap ones!

The "Align Pro 325 high performance rotor blades" (in black and white) are a good balance as theyre only $13-15 in a shop and cheaper online. They will be what Im flying for a while. They WILL offer more abuse thru the rotorhead and links if they "hit" something tho, part of the trade I guess.

I switched over to the carbon blades and can definetly feel the difference. The heli feels more stable in a hover, yet it is more responsive. Now I need to figure out why I kept loosing power in Idle up mode? I was flying on my lunchbreak at work in Idle up mode and the heli started loosing power. Good thing I had the heli up high enough when it lost power and dropped like a stone I flipped the togel switch back to the normal setting before it hit the ground It normal mode, it flew just fine.

I am very pleased with a Hausler 450 RTF version I recently purchased. The setup is great right out of the box for me as I am beginner/intermediate level. Flies very well, smooth, stable. I would say that it is a more stable flier than my Blade 400. I am very happy with it and may buy a second one just to have it. They have been on backorder for a while but ATS RC planes just got another shipment in case anyone is interested.

Did you figure out the power lost?

A friend picked up a "kit" locally and transfered his electronics to it. He is still happy with purchase. Only down side was the GF canopy would not fit as "ears" were not long enought to go over retaining pins. Otherwise everything else is ok.

happened to me too - if it lost power in idle up the transmitter was not adjusted properly. you will need to go into your computer using the transmitter disk and increase the headspeed in idle up and make sure it is 0 pitch at mid stick, which requires a pitch gauge.

Dont need a pitch gauge. Just fold blades to touch each other and lightly pinch one leading edge and the other trailing edge and you will have zero pitch.

Thanks for confirming what I thought the problem was. Looks like I need to hook the TX up to my laptop and adjust the settings in idle up mode. I was hoping I wouldn't have to make any adjustments to the TX programming. A friend of mine had a hell of a time getting his TX set up after changing his servo's. Oh well In the meantime, I will just have to keep it "right side up"!

Well I finally downed the Hausler after almost 50 flights. Had a mechanical failure! Not to sure what happened. Was just doing some mild sport flying and the sticks went dead Damage wasn't to bad. Needs a feathering shaft, fly bar and servo's. I also need to switch to a new TX. I really don't feel like having to make adjustments through the PC link.
I'm still happy with the Hausler. I probablly could have avoided this by going over the heli prior to flying it. Lesson learned!

Hi,

I am going to put a AR8000 rx in my Hausler 450 and use my new Spektrum DX8 with it. Anyone else tried this and what settings are you using?
