Yes it is! To be honest I was scared I would screw up reassembling it

NP Mark
Thanks
Trying to decide which one to go with. Not sure how much work is entailed in building the dash kit.
How is your build coming along?

Roy,

Mine is just about done. I'm just adding a few scale touches and will post some pics when completed.

Had to come up with a mounting system for some baskets I had made. Now I just need to paint them.

Hey Barry
You were right about Tyler. Great guy to deal with and I purchased a large pack of scale detail pieces for the Lama. They look awesome!
Funny thing is Angie calls me and tells me the package arrived but the box was crushed. Well I was upset about it but when I got home and checked the items there wasn't one bit of damage thank God.
When I told Tyler about the box he answered without hesitation and said he would replace any damaged items. Damn that is customer service!!
But luckily that wasn't necessary
I'm very happy with the scale 3D printed pieces and they will definitely dress up the Lama.

Awesome bud! I'm glad you like the parts. BTW, the easy way to fill in between the lines on the 3D printed parts is to use a heavy filler primer, then sand the part. Repeat as necessary until the voids are filled with primer.

Thanks for the tip Barry!!
The parts look real good so it should not take too much work to prep them for paint.
I want to get the boom painted and installed this weekend so fingers crossed

OK, I worked on two projects at the same time this weekend. I also found time to take my wife and her sister to watch a live band at a place called the Loft in Columbus, GA (It's only across the river). I'm on the road so much I had to find some time to get out with the wife for food, drinks, and fun

I did get a little work done on the Lama.
the skid tip covers come in black so I painted them white and installed them. I think it looks mo' better...

Then I wrapped her up in paper and painted the stinger red...
I was not happy at all with the way it came out as there was some bubbling and fisheye in the paint. I haven't painted in about 30 years so I called my buddy Rich (206 pilot) who is an awesome painter and got some advice. I felt it was the Alabama humidity, and he said that or the primer, or the surface wasn't cleaned well enough... He knows better than I do so end result... sand it all down again smooth, clean it well, primer and paint again.

Well second time around looks better but I'm still not completely happy with it. The pics show the end result thus far. Still need to wet sand the paint, then clear, wet sand again, then buff out with wax.

And then decided to move on to something a lot easier so I don't get discouraged
I installed the non-slip surface on the skids. this stuff is great as it has self-stick backing. I bought a large piece for $5.00 at a skateboard shop.

Roy,

You can't do the fun, finishing stuff first! Got to get the grunt work done.

One tip. When your installing the windshield with all those tiny screws, don't use too small a drill bit. Those screws are very weak and the heads break off VERY easy. You'll end up almost done with a section then break off a head then have to remove it all and dig out the headless screw. Also, after the center aluminum strip is installed along the top, use a slightly larger spacing for the rest of the screws or you might end up running out of them.

Spot on advice Mark! I go one step further, I run a tap through the holes first. It's a LOT of work, but the screws won't snap. When you do the final installation of the screws, use a tiny drop of Elmers glue on the screw threads. it will act like locktite and dries clear. I got that tip from "Stan the Man" a while back...
