This was created by Einstein in the 19th century. He said that 98% of the population could not solve it. Are you part of the 2% ? (Actually more than 2% of the population can solve this today due to our increased cognitive abilities).

The Facts: There are 5 houses that are 5 different colors.
In each house lives a person of a different nationality.
Each of these owners each drink a certain beverage, smoke a certain brand of cigar, and keep a certain pet.
No owners have the same pets, drink the same beverage, or smoke the same cigar.

The Hints: 1) The Brit lives in a red house.
2)The Swede keeps dogs.
3)The Dane drinks tea.
4)The green house is on the left of the white house
5)The person in the green house drinks coffee
6)The person who smokes PallMall has birds
7)Owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhill
8)Owner of the middle house drinks Milk
9)The Norweigan lives in the first house
10)Owner who smoke Blend lives next door to the one who keeps cats
11)Owner who has horses lives next door to the one who smokes Dunhill
12)Owner who smokes DutchMaster drinks beer
13)German smokes Prince
14)Norweigan lives next to the Blue house
15)Owner who smokes Blend has a neigbor who drinks water

The Question: Assuming that the fifth pet is fish......Who keeps the fish?

And sorry if this looks all botched up, but i didnt ise html cause i dont know all the codes. Good luck

And Danes smoke PallMall and drink Akavit

Solve This?

You guys are all overthinking this problem! You can't see the trees for the forest
The answer is simple; you can't do any of this until you flip into idle-up 2!!

Me too

I got the same matrix Dave_D listed..........Nice!

Since most of us got it, that shows that only 2% of the world is capable of flying RC Helis too!!!!!!!!!!!

We certainly are an elite group

See ya

Was anyone here smart enough

Was anyone here smart enough to just look at it and take in the contradiction and just in their head know who were locked out of certain positions, gaurenteeing certain things in certain positions to figure it out with reaching any dead ends and starting over.

Heli34: this is a "logic problem", and is solved by most of us using a grid where every possibility has a spot to be checked off or filled in. It's just a matter of crossing off things that can't be and filling in what you know. From there, you copy marks around in the grid until you can't mark anything else. Then you review the clues and can fill in more spots until suddenly the entire grid starts filling itself in and you're done.

If you like these puzzles, check your bookstore and see if they have or can order The Dell Book of Logic Problems.

OMG... a co-worker here just solved it, in about 15 minutes. IN HIS HEAD. Good grief! And he didn't guess, he just started reading off the complete groupings. I wish I could do that...

GRE

It is what you must pass to get into Grad. School. The test is made up of 3 sections (Quantitative, Verbal, and Analytical)

Grad. Record Exam = GRE

Kind of like the MCAT for Medical school
