Hello Friends,

I am pleased to announce the 2011 Mid America R/C Heli Fun Fly scheduled for June 3rd thru 5th, 2011. This years' event will take place at Grosse Ile Airport on the island of Grosse Ile, Mi. after months of planning and negotiating we have permission to fly on one of the airports two runways. The runway is 8850 feet long offering us an incredible amount of space for our flight line. This year the event will be held in conjunction with the Grosse Ile Island Fest also occurring at the airport during the Fun Fly.

Moving the event to the airport offers several new amenities:

Night Flying
Camping
Motor Home Parking

Due to circumstances beyond my control the XFC is being held the same weekend and as a result we will not have the attendance of some of our pro pilot friends, but I assure you there will not be a lack of talent at this event.

As usual there will be planned dinners and other activities for every night of the event.

Daughter graduates this year and of coures my wife is planning to have the graduation party that weekend, Looks like I wont make it this year but I know its not the end of the world for there will always be 2012......

Grosse Isle Airport looks like the perfect spot for a graduation party!

There are many other weekends around the event time as well I think she is choosing that date so that cannot go and have fun with your friends for a weekend.

She chose the date before Daryl posted the dates for the funfly. I guess I will have to go to Orlando (2011) to make up for this one....

Plans are well underway now and sponsors are signing on. Be prepared for another huge raffle with seperate prizes for registered pilots. Keep in mind we are adding night flying this year. Featured demo pilots are starting to confirm as well.

Looking forward to this for sure. Sucks you had vandals last year. That site was set up real nice for the event. I'm sure like usual this event will be off the hook. Count the Grand Rapids Crew in for attendance again.

The fun fly plans are well underway!!!

Pre-registration will start next week.

The school has been confirmed; Matt Botos (Synergy & Futaba)and Tim Jones (Castle, YS, Curtis Youngblood) will teach this year. Additional instructor will be brought if the demand requires it.
