Hi guys,

This might be a good place for all of us JR guys to post our E12 conversion setups.

So far I've ordered the following:

CC Ice 120HV
Pyro 700-45
Voltz 6s 4500 mAh packs
Running a 2S lipo and a Reactor X
JR servos and Quark gyro

I've almost finished converting my Vibe 90SG to the VibeSG E12 with the JR conversion kit.

Here's my set-up:

Castle Creations ICE 120HV ESC
Scorpion 5020-450Kv Motor
EmcoTec magnetic safety switch
2 x Turnigy 6s 5000Mah Li-Po batteries
BeastX flybarless unit & complete JR FBL head (a little later)
1 x Futaba BLS 251 tail servo
3 x Futaba BLS 252 ccpm servos

Voltz 2S 1P 2500Mah Li-Po with Perfect Regulator variable voltage regulator, to power all on-board electronics.

Radix 710mm FAI/F3C blades & Radix 105mm tail blades.

I've sent a design for a new base plate stiffener to Dan at Custom Heli Parts that I'm hoping he will produce from 2mm carbon plate and offer for sale to everyone through Ready Heli. The part is based on the Vibe 90SG nitro version base plate but is shapped differently and is narrower to suit the E12. It mounts just like the nitro version between the bottom of the airframe and skids. Its not totally necessary but it does give you more space to mount the electronics.

What size pinion are all you guys using 10,11, or 12 tooth ??

I'll be using my Vibe E12 for F3C, but I'm not sure if I should be using the 10 or 11 tooth pinion with the stock main gear.

Guys, sorry to sabotage the subject a little, but I quess it still is E-conversion type question.

On that Vibe50E conversion I have (running a 10 pinion by the way) I have noticed with the significant amount of power that the setup produces I am starting to move/reshape the teeth on the standard main gear. It hasn't let go yet but I am starting to get nervous, ready for a forced auto when it strips. I have reduced the pitch to +-10 degrees to nurse it a bit.

Those of you with a Vibe50N and the 90SG can you please tell me if I would be able to use the90SG main gear, I assume it is thicker/stronger and does it bolt into the same hub assembly. By the way how many teeth does the 90SG main gear have?

FYI here is a small bit of the Vibe50E in flight. Only in the hover, the camera guy who made up the video couldn't keep up with the upperair stuff!!

Since you are going to use 5020-450, I would go for 12T pinion, and governor down to around 2050rpm.
Works for my 8.0:1 gear ratio.

Just stripped out the main gear on my Vibe90E conversion. Always knew this would evetually happen with the light plastic Vibe50N main gear. Auto in okay!!!! Have a Vibe90 main gear and a Hirobo main gear that I will see if I can use. The Vibe90 main gear is significantly heavier but the ratio will drop from 8.7 to 8.4, so I might have to drop the Scorp engine from a 530KV to the 450KV to get better ratio/power, particularly to get the hover HS down to the 1600 level.

It will also give me the option of changing the ratio with the 10/11/12 pinion as discussed in the last post.

Just finished my project.

SYE12 converted from HelicopterJohon's Sylphide E conversion.

I ordered Airskipper version so these are the lists:
#61547 SY-E12 Mechanism Set for AS90
#84033 ASG Rotor Head
#61422 ASG Swashplate
#61178 Washout Stopper
#60778 HG Tail Boom Holder

Things used from old Sylphide other than electronics:
Tail section
Pulley
Landing gear
Canopy
Blades & paddles

It's practically new kit. All the new linkages came with kit.
I put Hacker Turbine A50-12L (640KV) on 10T pinion. 11T came with the kit and I got 13T (P/N61577) to test other motor later on.

ICE HV160 would not fit under the motor, so I had to mount on the side.
Also, the batteries I have(Zippy 6S 5000) got some swells and would not fit in... Nano-Tech 5000 (3S X 4) fit VERY tight.\

Will see how it fly.

Not a great deal is retained from the donor then, I wonder how huch these would cost to buy seperatly rather that use an existing Sylphide heli.
