Fifteen Men Arrested and Charged For Traveling to Polk County To Have Sex With Children

From Thursday, August 12, through Sunday, August 15, 2010, a total of 15 adult men were arrested and charged with traveling to meet a minor for sex (or related crimes) during an extensive undercover operation conducted by the Polk County Sheriff's Office, working in conjunction with members of the Tenth Judicial Circuit State Attorney's Office, Jerry Hill, State Attorney; Attorney General Bill McCollum's Office of Statewide Prosecution; agents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE); deputies from the Citrus County Sheriff's Office; and officers from the Lakeland Police Department and the Plant City Police Department.

During the operation, nearly every suspect answered advertisements posted by undercover detectives on the Internet advertising website "Craig's List." The common theme of the ads were "mom or dad seeking guidance for my daughter" for girls as young as age 10 years old up to age 14 years old. The 15 adult male suspects who were arrested answered the ads, expressing an interest in responding to the house to engage in sexual acts with the young girls, some of them saying they were willing to "teach" the children how to have sex. Some of the men also expressed an interest in having sex with the "mom" and the "child" at the same time.

After the suspects initially answered the ads, they then engaged the undercover detectives in subsequent emails, instant messages, and telephone calls, during which time the detectives offered the suspects to come to an undercover location in Polk County. When the suspects arrived at the undercover location, they were placed under arrest.

Sheriff Grady Judd said, "Despite the repeated warnings and media coverage of past operations, these perverted men freely chatted with undercover detectives who posed as men and women online. These men expressed specific desires to prey upon who they believed were innocent children. Some of the men even sent pornographic images of themselves to the detectives, and made very specific requests about what they wanted these children to do to them. We have proven once again that there are still predators out there, willing to use any means necessary to harm your children, and we will not stop conducting operations like these until these predators are behind bars."

On Thursday, August 12, Jason Shulman, DOB 4/9/1974, of 3704 Falling Acorn Circle in Lake Mary, drove to Polk County to have sex with a woman and her 14-year-old niece. He requested that the woman and her niece wear sundresses with nothing on underneath them and to meet him at a convenience store. Instead, Shulman was met by PCSO detectives, where he was placed under arrest. He was booked into the Polk County Jail on charges of: 1 count Traveling to Meet a Minor for Sex (F-2).

What do you mean "pull this off"? Dude his airplane career is done! This aint any small time potatoes like Chip Hyde snorting a little coke here and there.. and he lost his full ride with JR and all his other sponsors for that.. Every single sponsor Jason has will pull his stuff.. And he is one of Futaba's top guys! I feel sorry for his brother who is probably the single best turbine jet pilot in the world.. and having to show up at events with people knowing this..

what i mean by 'pull this off', is him trying to get underage meat curtains.

oh gotcha.. yeah that's sick.. I've flown pattern with that dude and he was the nicest most talented coolest guy on the field.. My how things change! I find it interesting you can't find this on any of the "other" pattern related airplane sites. At all.. Not RCU not Groups none of them.. But pictures don't lie and that is definitely him in that mug shot..

It's being swept under the rug by a few... only other forum I noticed a mention of this was on Flying Giants in the thread where Jason was picked to be on the F3A USA Team for pattern.

Of course there you have many throwing up the innocent until proven guilty crap. I tend to think that if the Sheriff department is going to post a mug shot of you online then they must have a pretty solid case against you.

Either way it sucks to see a well known guy like this in the news for all the wrong reasons. If he is proven guilty he can kiss all those sponsorships bye, bye.

when he gets to prison and they find out he flew toy airplanes for a living and liked having sex with little girls, he will be learning a new type of 3D.

he may not make it long in prison. think about it.

obviously, this was not the first time he's done this. seems it was real easy for him to get involved in. got too cormfartable with it and now his life is over.

can't say i have one bit of sympathy for him. if someone tried that with my daughter i would gladly put a 9mm hollowpoint in his skull with no problem at all.

will be interesting to see how this unfolds. this may be a long thread.

what a dumbass. they hate child molesters in prison. he'll be dead soon. it will be brutal.

Unfortunately he probably wont get time for this, because fortunately he never was able to harm a minor. Still, probably going to get his a55 kicked in county unless he goes straight to PC.

Man that is frightening..just this Sunday at IRCHA we were cruising around in the golf cart before we had to turn it in.. my girlfriend said "what is all that concrete for?" I Said that's where they hold the aerobatic airplane championships. She said " who is the Curtis of airplanes?" I said Jason Shulman.. sorry Curtis!

Its not JUST this hobby.

Unfortunately, there are these kind of sick loosers in many places. We just found one in our family several weeks ago that has molesting his step daughter in their home for 2 years. That guy is looking at 5 years in the state pen along with being listed as a sex offender for the rest of his life. Usually, by the time they are finally caught, there are many, many more victims in their past.

Its hard to imagine that these types can actually have the mind set that they can get away with this kind of crap within a family and walk without consequences when its so out there for all to see in our media on a daily basis and what those consequences are not only to themselves, but to the innocent young people as well.

Hard to imagine. In my mind, death is to lenient a punishment for this type of crime. For the sake of the young ones, be vigilant.
